Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Oh yeah
With 40% extra depth I don't care if it costs over 10k I'll pay it off in a week any way on one of my old patches
BRING IT ON!!!!!!!!!!

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
History tells me that every machine M/L has released since the SD2K, has cost approx 6.5 x the average wage at that time.
Thats puts this in at a tad over $9k
[figures from M/L and Bureau of Statistics]

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Could have predicted this from Mr Negativity
Read the ad Larry. It says 40% deeper then a gpx5000 in standard conditions.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I remember a conversation i had with Judy Buss from Goanna Gold two or so years back when i purchased my CTX, we were discussing what the next top of the shelf Minelab would look like and she thought the new detector would be based on the CTX, looks like she was spot on.

GPZ7000 release delayed.
Gee, I'm glad that the coil of the 7000 is hinged in the centre, not like on the SDC2300 on the outside of the coil.

Didn/t they say the gp extreme was 50% deeper than the 2200d? Maybe because it's waterproof it can go 40% deeper underwater before water ingress.

'40% Deeper than 5000 in Standard Conditions'......USA or Australian advert?......
Guest- Guest
Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Your questions and statements are totally logical Larry but I'm not sure where you are getting the 'standard conditions' bit.
UP TO 40% DEEPER*
*When compared to the average performance of the GPX 5000 in testing environments. Actual performance depends on prevailing conditions.
So in a laboratory it is UP TO 40% deeper. Assuming a number of combinations of target size and depth were tested in the lab then not all achieved a 40% improvement.
We then need to understand the impact of 'prevailing conditions'. For this we will be relying heavily on JP. Which is a good thing because he always tells it the way it is.

gpz whatever
Have a sdc had a ctx 3030 / What`s the point in buying a gpz ? It looks like a ctx and if like the ctx you can`t see the screen with polarized glasses and you can`t see it with them off because of the reflection from the sun, what`s the point. I have a gps that can upload gps points to a lap top. The only thing on offer so far is UP TO 40% deeper (than what?). Well there will be a few out there that will confirm that {for whatever reason}. I feel my $4000 sdc has been devalued before its time because of Minelab`s new marketing endeavours and I feel they will do the same again. we have bought new detectors every new release {except the 4000} since we have started detecting but we won`t be so quick this time around. In my opinion the faults with sdc were just shrugged off, some people actually said buy accessories to fix the problems. What`s going to be different this time. For now we will stick with the old minelab 5000.

If only minelab put the 2300 in a 3030 case it would be on my Detector rack, who needs a fold up detector

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
OMG, I'm looking for the nearest brick wall to bang my head against in a repeated fashion This sounds more like business as usual 'drip feed' to me. ML have previously promoted 20% depth increases between models of similar technology. For so called NEW technology, I was expecting something more like 140% depth increase. For 40% at best, I'll be sticking with my 4500, yes 4500, I traded back down from a 5000 with absolutely no regrets.
Very disappointing Minelab.

The fine print at the bottom of the Ad......"When compared to the average performance of the GPX 5000 in testing environments. Actual performance depends on prevailing conditions. † GPZ 14 coil fully waterproof to 1 m (3 ft)" time will tell....as it always does

Yeh I`ve gotta agree with that.Hermann wrote:Gee, I'm glad that the coil of the 7000 is hinged in the centre, not like on the SDC2300 on the outside of the coil.
That pivot from the back is the thing that I like to hate the most about the 2300

Interesting to now see what happens in the second hand market - As Franco Cozzo would say "Grand Sale, Grand Sale"
For all those small towns in the goldfields that have been battling through freeway bypasses etc. I hope this is the next big rush.

On the 2 comments from the GPZ 7000 ad on minersden, one is Johnathan and the other comment is from Steve in the US, does anyone know who this Steve is?

Maybe Steve Herchbach, pretty sure he would confirm that.

Hi JP, mate im not sure if this has been brought up in this thread yet, or if you can answer, but 40% deeper, is that on specks or across all nugget range sizes? what was the largest bit found and at what depth in testing? With the 40% deeper am i right in reading that is compared to a 5k with a standard coil compared to the 7000 with a 14 inch coil ? If that is the case would be interesting to compare the 5k with 14inch and the 7000 14 inch, would there still be a difference of 40%. Be great if you can give some insight, cheers

Hey Bloodgold,
I agree with all you have asked here because the Minelab gpx 5000 comes standard with the 11" mono coil.
The ad says that but a confirmation would be nice as not to speculate...!?
I guess time will tell.

Mate
Very good question/ observation!!
Would it be to outrageous to say a 14" coil could most likely get 40% better depth than a 11" coil anyway ????

GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Thank God it's not in the same box as the SDC, Worst ergonomics ever.
It looks good
No coil cable wrapped around the outside of the shaft
Wireless Audio, great
Up to 40% increase in depth.
What I don't like or don't need
40% increase in price, unlike the depth claims, this can be guaranteed.
GPS Locating and PC Mapping, I have other solutions, that don't consume the detector's power.
Unable to adjust the reach to or the position of the handle.
I have the handle on my 5000 slightly offset to the left, just more comfortable for me.
Makes the 5000 + SDC bundle look a bit expensive if you just brought one.
Your collection of GPX coils become obsolete.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Has it ever occurred To anyone, that it's not really released yet.
and maybe no one is allowed to talk about it yet
I feel for those like JP, who may be bombarded with questions.
that he may/ or may not be able to answer yet.
Only time will tell I guess
Have patience everyone

1. Maybe there is an option not to turn on, I hope so as I too have other options that I use.
2. Look closely, it slides forward/backward like the SDC
3. Only if you get rid of you 5k, which personally i would never do. Might be a good time for me to buy some more.
