Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Let's just remember this.
The next generation from Minelab is said to be completely new technology.
Jp et.al will have a steep learning curve as distinct from any previous model. This includes the Minelab dealers.
JP no doubt will have the added workload of producing a dvd for it. No mean feat that either.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I remember when gold was half the price it is now and the best detector cost a massive $1000 The year 1979-1980 and there was plenty of gold even large nuggets, a lot of people dreamed of making a fortune. Some did but most did not.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
It all looks very interesting.
Jp I have been following your comments for quite some time and I knew by some of your comments early last year that there was something good in the works I look forward to it...
Now Minelab, I have one request and I'm sure many others would agree on this one, can you PLEASE ship the first batches of these with fully charged batteries as I don't want to sit around waiting for it to charge up before I can play
Cheers Mick

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I am looking forward for the release of the new detector and new technology. But I'm hoping the cost won't be out of reach on most everyday prospectors, like myself, just living on a pension and the gold telly for the last couple of years are down low as it was used to prop up the pension at times.
The new technology that JP is talking about, I hope it includes, that the detector looks straight through the ground we are detecting and not seeing all the minerailised ground around the target. If it can do that, that means it should also go deeper and shouldl be an all round winner.

Be good if we can keep this post going till new detector is released. Might make it into the guiness book of records for longest post full of fiction . Pap

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Minelab are the only ones that know the truth on new machine. And maybe JP maybe we just wait and see what comes, l am sure it will be good as 5000 is a brilliant detector. The thing l find funny is everyone's hanging on its release but can't see how a new machine will open old ground when these areas have been trashed for 30 years or more. The 5000 doesn't miss much . Maybe a few areas that are very noisey unless it can punch extreme depths and that would obviously change things. But unless it can put gold in ground l will continue to use 5000 ,$8000 is a lot of money these days if that's what it will cost. I am having a laugh at us all l too am excited to see what comes and love the speculation every time a new detector is eminent.

Actually, I am the associate editor of the ICMJ magazine - AKA - The Prospecting and Mining Journal. We've been printing issues here in the states since 1931. However, while I write a lot of the articles, I don't normally see the ads (just not my job), and I've not got my issue in the mail yet. I'm looking forward to seeing it!
The photo image version is not yet on the internet either, but it should be in a few days.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Although there has been plenty of speculation about the entry cost to put your hands on a 7000 ( $7000-9000 ) which is way outside my budget , time will tell whether its good value or not , all it will take is the first lucky few swinging it over flogged ground and start recovering multi-ounce nuggets then watch the rush to Minelab distributers ( or the bank " Please sir can I borrow $9000 " ) . Like many here I hope the new detector when released is something extraordinary ..cheers Mick

Thanks for the info Chris. I have an online subscription to your magazine and was wondering why the photo image version wasn't available. Guess I will just have to wait a few days, looking forward to a sneak peak
It's got some really interesting articles for those thinking of subscribing, amazing how many manufacturers there are of small scale mining equipment over there. You certainly get a lot more options then we do here.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Seems to be well priced - $0.00.
I might take two.
I wonder if its 40% better in highly mineralised Australian conditions?

Hi
To those folks out there who have used the CTX3030, can you make some comment from the picture in the above link, is the photo (control pad) different to the 3030 or have they just changed the photo a little ?
Also from your experiences with the CTX platform, ie; construction were there any issues with the batteries, weight distribution, any play in the shaft? just trying to get a picture if the CTX was that awesome so to justify the use of this construction, not bagging minelab, but it would seem they are using already developed construction to package their new TECH, just like they did with the SDC2300 & we know that has a few issue's.
Your thoughts would be interesting.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
By the look of it, there are no interchangeable components from the GPX to this one, could get a bit expensive to set up a full compliment of gear for an extended run to WA or NQ

The Battery pack is larger , weight distribution might be the same given that the coil would weigh more
The Pad looks about the same
The shaft stacks up ok , some have shafts replaced early on
Bring it on
