GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Gidday All,
It would appear from the following documents that the Minelab 7000 will be a while yet !
Confidentiality request for users manual, photos etc. extended now to 28 March 2015.
https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/reports/ViewExhibitReport.cfm?mode=Sum&calledFromFrame=N&RequestTimeout=500&application_id=929819&fcc_id=Z4C-7000
Cheers,
Rick

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
hopefully for all those that sold their 5k, it will be in time for the new season. i think i will stick to my 5000 so much to learn on its use and abilities and too early for me to write it off as redundant or superseded.

I think that March 28th is probably the release date for specs and release for public purchase will be within a month of that.AraratGold wrote:Gidday All,

If you look back at previous flagship minelab models they have done it pretty much the same in the past.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I'm not expecting any new "flagship" device early this year because the "US MineLab guy" who addressed the PMAV AGM at Chiltern in October said it would be 12 months or so ! When has a new device EVER been released that far ahead of an estimate given by someone with a real clue ?

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Minelab never suggested the detector would be released on 28th December 2014, so how could it be classed as delayed?

Not Minelab Pete,
Our anti Minelab mate Doug said it !
A direct quote, dated October 21 2014, from his forum AEGP : " The new ML GPZ7000 Metal Detector will be released i believe before the 28th Dec this year. You heard it first here! the relevant information is in the public domain but its unlawful for any person to hot link to the site containing the information and downloadable pdf's.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Yes mate, I am aware of that.
Guessing is a wonderful thing when it's wrong.
Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
How about a big release at the Wedderburn Token Hunt, even better first prize is a 7000 (timing seems about right). That will get a few more at the dust bowl.

Argh come on Larry. We are all used to the big nugg finds, usually from in the triangle leading into an Easter break. It has happened so often that people expect it. The difference these days is that the finds are accompanied by videos and tv publicity and may involve a detecting/prospecting shop somewhere or a bit of publicity for a town in the gold fields

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I have long realized mate you are DougyDog DoDo's No1 Disciple.. ..perhaps Minelab are waiting for the release of the QED before releasing their "flagship" 7000 Super Dooper Whooper....so they can glean any advancements in detecting technology displayed in Dougy's flagship QED....aptly named Flagship Titanic. I hear.. ....Hoo Roo

I think Goldnomad was in the top 5 of Dougs list. Too bad we lost Patches (Clark) Junior. I keep in touch with his family. He visited me three times here in the States. Sent him lots of farm supplys over the years.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Agreed Arizona, Patches Junior was always a lively poster/contributor over many years....didn't he give Patches1 hell in the early days... <but then again so did I on all days!!> .....I think he was a motor mechanic by trade wasn't he?....sad loss to the prospecting community....I imagine Goldnomad is in the top 5 or the bottom 5 of most lists depending on the site... Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
I talked to a lead tech at Minelab last week and asked him his thoughts on the GPZ 7000. Here are some highlights he told me, and probably what others already know:
1) It will be an expensive model, above the GPX5000
2) It will have 3 modes of operation, and the ability to use those 3 modes at the same time
3) The ZVT zero voltage technology will be a gpx 5000 on steroids, it will be like the 5000, and the 2300 combined and then some, this new timing will be completely different than the gpx.
4) Projected release will be later this year, as they have just started getting the minimum technical documents on it.
Does anyone have Binoculars on JP ????

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Given the track record of yeteryear with ML releases, its a safe bet to predict. Delayed is just the polite way of putting it.Qld Sandy wrote:Minelab never suggested the detector would be released on 28th December 2014, so how could it be classed as delayed?
Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Minelab said last year they were releasing 3 new detectors is this the mid range detector
Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Don't know if this is my own rumour coming round to bite me in my own derriere', but I was talking on phone to a Prospector in W.A. last week, who was confident 'the big one' would be released March/April @ about $9,500 purchase........Hoo Roo

I think it was your siamese brother that mentioned a relesase date.
Minelab haven't said anything, so I have to say that it isn't delayed in any way shape or form.
Is that clearer?

Looking forward to the release
It'll give Larry something new to complain about, over 100 posts complaining about the SDC this year, congrats
Let's see if you can better your record with the new one

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Geez Larry! I feel honoured to be in the top five on dodgy's "most hated" list
Personally, I believe the release date of the next ML offering will coincide with the WA season. The 5000 was released on Septemeber One which, to me, seemed a strange time as it was near the end of the WA season.
Has anyone talked to Trevor or Rohan to see if they are developing new coils?
Robert

Hi Larry.
You hit the nail on the head there. I can tell you it is very very heavy, have you ever swung an ATX?
Be prepared, you had better do your weights and build up now, until late March at least.
Robert your statement. Has anyone talked to Trevor or Rohan to see if they are developing new coils?
I hear Minelab already have an interest in Coiltek, and that came from SA.

Fixed coil? One size? What size? Can other companies make to suit or just minelab ones? Etc etc
So many questions regarding the new super dooper while I sit wet season bound up here in the Darwin tropics.

Re: GPZ7000 RELEASE DELAYED ??
Had a feeling ML were getting us ready for something heavy when they brought out the harness with the built in hip stick.
Going to need to keep your 5000/4500 or what ever if you are into wandering, looking for new patches.
Looking like its an expensive patch mopper upperer. Time will tell...
Love the speculation, premature and all.
