Re: Heading To WA
Nice finds Mike. Well done. Always great to catch up on your progress. We are doing it cold here at the moment in Queenstown, Otago, NZ. Had our first dump of snow on tuesday down past lake level & even snow down to sea level on the coast in places. I took my camera to work on Wednesday to get a pic to show you guys & the batteries were flat
Keep up the good work ......& results.
Good luck out there

Re: Heading To WA
I'll give this a try and show u my hard earned nugget the first after 6 weeks , 2 at Bullfinch, 2 at Broad Arrow & two with Mike and the crew. all
were finding yellow but me. Told mike to put my 5000 on the Items for sale if it continued. I then hit a little 0.6grmer. I thought it was the curse breaker but alas no nothing for another week. On the day Mike and the crew left for their tour I went back to a little patch and unearthed the second. So when u see 82 nuggets for 48hours my mind just boggles. Cheers to all us sloggers.

Re: Heading To WA
G'day all,
Just a bit of an update we are currently on a gold prospecting tour with Darren Kamp from Gold & Relics. The tour is going quite well there has been quite a few little nuggets found, but I will let Leanne fill you in on all the details as she gets them from Darren.
We don't have any service at camp so I have parked up on a big hill and managed to get some service to do this little update. Everyone is going ok and the campfire entertainment is great. We have met some very nice people on this tour and some great laughs to be had by all.
Cheers.

Re: Heading To WA
Hi Mike,
I was answering about your quartz vein topic and found out it was gone.
Well if there is no gold in the quartz vein then stop looking further there but try to find the red dirt area
by the vein instead .
Over there if you use you largest round coil ( 16-18 inches ) you will have a better chance of
finding large nuggets just right at the contact zone .
Good luck
Paul

Re: Heading To WA
G'day All,
Thanks Nohave for your comments yes I think that thread has fallen off now.
We have just finished a great tour with Darren from Gold & Relics. As I went on the tour to give Darren a hand with the other members of the tour, I did not do a lot of detecting, but I did enjoy helping the other members find their gold. I will leave the finer details up to Darren and Leanne to put in their report. I will add that a great time was had by All and the Jokes told around the camp Fire each Night can not be repeated on the open forum......
Also Darren put on a couple of movie nights under the Stars. Bringing back memories of the good old Drive in days.....
Thanks Darren and to the other tour members it was a great 10 Days had by All...
Cheers.

Re: Heading To WA
G'day all,
Thanks Dave, CostaDee and Shelby for your replies.
I can feel your sorrow there CostaDee and wish you were here with us. You could always catch a plane to Kalgoorlie for the Weekend and we will pick you up at the airport.
The gold front has been a little slow lately, but the weather has been fine. We went for a drive and came across some interesting things.
This one is an old timers hut made from tins.
This one is some mess from not so long ago.
There is no end to the targets in these areas.
Cheers.

Re: Heading To WA
Thanks for that photo of the house made of tin cans Mike, I'm currently building one out of wine bottles and your photo has given me some good building tips.

Re: Heading To WA
Great photos Mike... the resourcefulness of the oldtimers always amazes me.... but I've always wondered at what point does rubbish become a relic... I could imagine the local historical society wanting to "protect" the old hut, (if they could find it!!)..!!
Enjoy the warmth... below freezing the last few mornings here.
Cheers.. Andrew.

Re: Heading To WA
Thanks Shiraz and Andrew for your replies.
Shiraz would be great to see some pics of your little house of wine bottles after you complete it.
Andrew it is an historical site, the old hut is in a tourist brochure and is a bit hard to find.
The nights are very chilly over here as well Brrrr. Maybe not quite as cold as in Vic, but the days are quite pleasant.
Cheers.
