Re: Heading To WA
G'day All sorry I haven't answered any of your posts lately as the service is not real flash out this way. Hope that the Cyclone is not too destructive and all goes well up there Blisters. The weather here has been hitting the low to mid 30'c tonight it is only dropping to 19'c. We have been looking around in different areas and I have found a couple of small pieces today, will have to give them a clean and take a photo of them. Thanks again for all the great replies.
Cheers.

Re: Heading To WA
G'day All,
Thanks again for your kind replies and we have been getting out everyday but the last 3 days I have not found any yellow. I know it is only 1 or 2 swings away maybe even 3 . The weather here is still a bit on the warm side it got up to 36'c today according to the car. So it was an early start and finish for us today. Still have not taken any pics of my last finds and will do so soon.
Cheers.
Mike.

Re: Heading To WA
Hi Mike and Jenny good to hear from you. Hot over there hey? Well in Maryborough it will be from 7 to 19deg with off and on rains with possible storms all day. Tomorrow sunny with 23deg. I see that you have not found much in the last few days. Well you should head over to Darrens mob, as I see they have got 111 pieces in 10 days for 406.3gms Not much is happening for me right now, still being nurse, bottle washer and cook for Wifie, but she is getting much better now. Still a long way to go but better.
cheers guys and good luck

Re: Heading To WA
G'day All and thanks JW for your kind replies. Well we got out for a swing today around the area where I got my 1/2oz bit, we spent a couple of hours there and no one got anything. So we bush bashed a bit further in and we put in another couple of hours on a very promising looking area for zilch. Then the young bloke came back and said he found another likely looking area. So we bush bashed a bit more to get to this spot and saddled up. Well after about 15 mins I got this nice drop tone and knew it sounded like it could be a nice one. It was down in the red powdery stuff about a foot deep. We hammered this area for another couple of hours with no returns except I managed to find 3 pieces of rusty trash. I was the only one to get anything in this spot.

Re: Heading To WA
Thanks Pete and g'day All just a little update. We are going to move camp again tomorrow, as the pickings have been pretty slim for the last few days. I have been averaging about 1 every 3-4 days, so we have decided to move to a more productive area. We hope it is anyway. Thanks again for all the kind replies and hope to post some more pics soon.

Re: Heading To WA
Howdy Mike,
I’ve heard from different groups over there, that the gold is harder to find this year, i hope it doesn’t stay that way, I will find out myself shortly. Anyway, good luck at your next location.
Cheers Greg

Re: Heading To WA
G'day all, thanks squashman and welcome to the forum. Thanks Blisters and Mullockgrubber for your replies.
We had a pretty good storm come through yesterday and was not very pleasant detecting with all the spikes.
The weather is supposed to be getting better over the next few days and hopefully we will get onto some gold.
Cheers.

Re: Heading To WA
G'day All,
Just another update, we all went out for a swing yesterday, but we didn't find any yellow for our day out. I did get a little 1.11 Gramer the day before. Also a pic of the misses gold so far 6 grams using the 4500 and Coiltek 14"x9" gold stalker mono coil.
And a pic of a couple of visitors to our camp early yesterday morning.
Cheers.
Mike and The Crew.

Re: Heading To WA
Hi Mike and Jenny It seems to be hit and miss for the both of you right now but a good spot could be just around the corner. Love the photos keep them coming mate. I hope also that the weather settles down for you both and you don't get rained in. Not much is happening over here right now, been out 3 times for 1 nugget only. Mrs.Wombat is picking up really well now as she is trying to do things for her self and also starting to pick on me but all in good fun. Well guys and gal I hope you hit a BIG patch. and stay safe.

Re: Heading To WA
G'day Bill glad to hear all is going well for you and Mrs Wombat. Thanks also for your well wishes and looks like we will be heading further north in about 3weeks time maybe. The last couple of days the temps over here have dropped considerably and the nights are starting to get very cold as well. Another good reason to start heading further north. Hope you can get back out there soon and find that nuggy.
Cheers.
