Re: the GPX 6000
Definitely in the making for a 2021 release Slavi. One can only hope, any delay's of its release (due to the current world crisis we're facing) are kept to a minimum.
Cheers Kon.

If the Junk is only shallow, stop whinging, dig it and get onto the next target.Digging rubbish is part and parcel of this hobbie.
I dug 49 bits of tin plate out of a square mtr a few weeks back. Target #50 was a .45 nugget and it only took 1/2 an hr.
Remember,surface junk hides deeper nuggets.
Can not be OVERSTATED....disc is all fine and dandy...but the truth is many of us have experienced digging a piece of rust and a few inches APART or even under the junk we found gold. I once dug out a screaming square nail 4 inches down, stuck the coil back in the hole, and dug out 17 nuggets!!! my 4500 serves me just fine a disc choice would be great but for what price??? 8,000 u.s. dollars..don't think so. If my 4500 knew i would replace her for a new sexy 6000 I would be CURSED with bad gold karma.

Re: the GPX 6000
Does anyone know if the Minelab dealers have had there convention or meeting yet?
Perhaps they will announce something here in Oz soon.

Re: the GPX 6000
Here is a YouTube video of the GPX-6000! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiyT-DJDW8A
Only problem is the spoken language is Arabic (I think) but still interesting in as much as it shows the display powered on.

Take note that the Coil lead plug that plugs the coil into the detector, is not the same as all past coils designed for the GPX series but 6000 only, making the use of any past Minelab or aftermarket coils obsolete. (less the coil plug on the older coils, can be modified in some way to suit the new GPX 6000 & thats if the coil is not micro chipped). The new detector is currently offered with 2 mono coils only. An 11 inch standard & what seems to be a 17X13 mono?
Cheers Kon.

Re: the GPX 6000
There are two versions of the new machine. One has two batteries and the large mono coil. The other has 1 battery and a 14” DD as the larger coil.
I have put up more pictures on The Bendigo Prospecting club FB page. Feel free to copy and past them here. They are added to the previous post on the 6000.
Even though i have been a member here for a few years i don’t post many pictures.
Here as it is harder than the forum i am admin on and the FB page.
The standard coils for the old gpx are no use on the new rig.
Mlb have been testing this version of new technology for at least 4 years. From a box with many toggle switchs to the digital version produced.
Minelab have sent out emails announcing the new detector today.
Before Easter is the only time frame i can find.

Re: the GPX 6000
Considering we don't have any official write up or video of the GPX 6000 (in the English version), things can get a little confusing here, but maybe I'll wait for ML to announce its official release date/specs, in the hope we can all get a better understanding of what's actually going on. Not a problem & thanks for the update Rwork.

Re: the GPX 6000
Please tell me someone that the locking nut from the coil cable that attaches to the main unit isn't plastic?
From what I can see it's black, ?? plastic, hopefully the housing body thread is metal??
cheers moredeep

Re: the GPX 6000
Just sitting here thinking about this new gpx6000, the fact that it can hit a 3/4 grain nugget and/or a 7 gram nugget at extreme depth, would lead me to think this machine has multi auto function with timings, could be 2-3 timings running in the background linked to microprocessors evaluating targets as you swing. Some of the wording on the outside of the box eludes to possible multi timings running auto at same time. Could be the Geo-Sense?

Re: the GPX 6000
That may well be the case gbs, for there are some huge performance claims according to their performance chart above? (such that of blowing the socks off the SDC 2300 over a 0.05gram nugget or should I say panning picker or colour? )
Going by my own experiences with Minelab detectors of the past, each new model PI detector, had offered some slight advantage over its predecessors, but never in leaps & bounds.
As the proof of the pudding is in the eating, so will the proof of what Minelab claim of the 6000 be, when tested out on the field & if its as good as Minelabs claim, well, you know, I want one Till then, we'll just have to wait & see.
Cheers Kon.

Re: the GPX 6000
A pity the 6000 part of the Spec sheet doesn’t show unless i click on the picture. It would also have been good to see the 7000 on the sheet as well.
A prospector who has access to info said that the 6 will bring lots of extra people to the goldfields. I guess it is a case of getting out there early before they arrive.
The overseas dealer in Siam said they get their pricing in Feb. Hopefully ours will be released at the same time.
The smaller 11” Mono is the coil to use apparently but i will buy the kit with the larger mono as well.

Re: the GPX 6000
The coil plug was mentioned.
It seems to be a 12 pin plug so I don’t think the aftermarket coils will be able to be used unless someone makes an adapter.

Re: the GPX 6000
Well then If that is the case Rwork, why do they even bother mentioning past coils can be used, but the coil cables might not be suited? Why not just come up with an adapter on offer to suit? Oh, that were foolish of me to say, for that would be taking future coil sales away from Minelab, or they would have made an adapter (on offer as an accessory) to suit all past coils already.
Cheers Kon.

Re: the GPX 6000
12 pin plug or not we will soon see for ourselves.
I wonder if one of the overseas shops that are putting out the 6000 clips would reply to a question.

Re: the GPX 6000
hi all
very interesting chart posted by rwork above
if the 6000 is way better than the 2300 and better than the 5000 as the chart suggests
how close is it going to be to the 7000 in overall performance?
are we going to see an 8000 soon or possibly a good software upgrade for the 7000
that Minelab will sell to us, rather than the last 2 upgrades that were free
I suppose a lot will depend on the price difference between the 6000 and 7000
I wont be selling my 7000 anytime soon but might be tempted to upgrade my 2300
doesn't sound like we will be waiting to long now
regards
mick
