Re: Great expectations 2022
As a believer in fate, Friday arvo produced a bit over a gram [ 2 on the left ]
Saturday was the same place a very flogged spot and that produced a speci that had 3 bits in it [centre] also bumped into a newbie with a gold monster and tried to point him in the right direction.
While sitting there sipping on a beer late in the afternoon 4 young women wandered up the track all kitted out with new detectors ,boots and picks, I gave them a little gold advice and donated a sub grammer for them to try their detectors on, they were stoked, gotta share the love:lol:
And today was a complete surprise whilst dodging the showers, 4 bits for just over 2 grams for a total of 3.6 gms, go figure

Re: Great expectations 2022
Beautiful weather but the gold is playing hard to get, point 4 of a gms for the last 3 days.
Be on the look out for the occasional widow maker, spotted some nasty ones at Daylesford.
The one pictured was somehow suspended mid air by a thin sapling, it looked like a strange trap.
The other pic was at the local park, a pine limb was embedded some 10 to 12 inches into the ground, scary stuff
Keep an eye out for them.

Re: Great expectations 2022
I've said this on more than one occasion in the past, only our detector/coil timings have their limits, but only the gold bearing ground knows how much more gold lays in wait, just out of detector/coil reach.

I can wave that little coil at rapid pace and cover a good area, appears to work

Re: Great expectations 2022
I visited a mate in Maryborough vic today for his 70th,and as usual I was keen to get out into the gold fields for a scratch.
After gifting him some nice reds and a few beers I was on my way, the weather was wild & windy with some sideway rains [kept the mozzies away ]
I wasn't expecting any miracles but managed to ping these little nuggies around .75gms the smallest was 0.06 of a gram
The drive home was spectacular with a double rainbow that lasted the entire 40 min drive back to Castlemaine.[pic doesn't show intensity of the rainbow though ]
Cairn Curran reservoir was full and all the creeks and rivers were flowing beautifully

M8 for a second there i thought you'd popped over to Ukraine no doubt about ya for someone detecting as long as you have to still have the GOLD BUG ADDICTION , good onya ,more patience than i have M8 i too love that 8'' & 5'k combo , me using 8'' dd ,swapping to mono ,depending on what i'm detecting and my mood at that moment , the 11'' ml dd's & monos are great too , but its the target identification clarity that appeals to me mostly . M 8 as far as rain bows go ,i have twice in the same grader and fencline a few weeks apart, whilst screaming up them with the blade up to try and see their ends ,did so ,whilst not finding any pots of GOLD , did find the colours reflected onto the ground , which to me M8 answered a old wives tale that many of us '' affected ''
