For us Victorians that would exclude half of Daylesford and about 15 percent of the rest.
And you wont have to dig deep holes.
I like 4x4's better.

These are 24 leaf gold capsules that you swallow for no reason. There are no health benefits. But you’ll poop gold. And you can go up to people in restaurants and say, “I just swallowed gold. Because I can. How’s your sandwich?” For $10k you can get almost a six month supply.

G'day Slim, would you mind if I was to follow you round the bush for a while with the SDC while you do what bears do in the woods

Yeh mate, it's a sure thing, heard it from 3 'pros' in the bush the other day.
The half coil is so if you have a mate who has one too, you can join em together to make a super duper detector. It has a linking cable like the one on the honda eu20i generators!
Bloody awsome

Re: GPZ7000 Price
I wonder whether the price will be based on US$ (as it's main market) or in AU$ which would make it
cheaper for the US market (looking at the recent exchange rate slide of the aussie dollar)?
Either way we're not in a good position here again. I Hope Minelab will consider this when fixing the Aussie rrp

Re: GPZ7000 Price
Classic marketing by Codan, $10.5k bloody hell, $10.5K who can afford it, $10.5k you're joking, $8.5k oh that's the real price, that's cheap.
Quite the apposite marketing technique to that used for the QED.

Re GPZ7000 Price
All this talk about price, is only baiting us. The Price will be $9750 and we will all say "what a bargain"
way cheaper than $10500.
Let's face it, the price is all conjecture.
Cheers Doug

Re: GPZ7000 Price
just to head those off at the pass, basing the price on US isn't going to work as a guide/price for here.
Our $ is about 22% (there abouts) below the US $ so if they are perhaps going to pay 10G (unlikely) we will be around the 12G mark.
As wombat has hinted in 2 weeks we will know how poor we will have to become in order to look flash on the fields.
Until then no one really knows ?
Cheers
PS So whats a 5000 or even the beasty 4500 going to be worth now???, three fifths of F all ??? will be interesting to see.

Re: GPZ7000 Price
Don't personally know the bloke involved but apparently a dealer offered this bloke a GPX5000 for $3800 today (new I assumed). The dealer also said there would be no trade ins on the 5000?
If thats the case the used price will only be over 3k for a good, lightly used, under warranty machine. Hate to be trying to sell a GPX4000 or earlier at the moment.

Re: GPZ7000 Price
I had to drop the price of a 4000 to $2500 to sell it. I have another at the same price, and a 4500 for $3500, which I expect will have to be reduced to sell it too.
I guess the 5000 now as a top retail might be around $3500, and maybe less, but it depends on who wants to buy it I suppose as the market dictates the price.

Hi Jen
YES it HAS!!!
I have just brokered a deal for an SDC out of Tassie for $2800 & I have seen one on another site for $2500, this may not be indicative but I feel for the dealers as the special by Minelab has hurt their sales I believe!!!!

Re: GPZ7000 Price
if you follow international finance, the talk worldwide is - deflation. currencies world wide are devalueing in competition for the reduced world wide trade. iron ore - tanked, coal - tanked, oil - tanked, metal detectors - tanked????
wont be surprised with anything that happens next ... kev
gold price tanked? nah - suppressed by banks.

The only way I see that happening is if the price of the gpz is around 5-6k. If the price is near or over the 10k mark I don't think the price of 2nd hand detectors will be effected much if any at all as that will be out of reach for many.
Anyway, we wait and see....

Re: GPZ7000 Price
You see it written here there and everywhere that the market dictates the price.
You/we/us are the market, and from what iv read thus far, the market has already voiced what its willing to pay. The old saying of " more money then sense" rings true here as the many who can afford such a speculative price tell you about it. When a more impressive thought would be to manipulate the price now, so it follows through to the next one that just may be...15k.
I said in a previous thread that 8k would pull me up.....not because i cant afford more, but because if your going to make a stand, you have to start somewhere. My little stand will mean diddly in the real world.....but imagine if the market shared the same thought. The manufacturer would have two options....sell it at a price the market is willing to pay...or let it gather dust. Since we the market have no overheads, im betting the dust option... is not an option.
Food for thought, and just an opinion.
PS....again, who is the market if you let it go at such low prices that are now being reported.?
