GPZ7000 Price
G/day All
Had an email from the Prospectors Pick in Bunbury this morning advising that they are now taking orders for the new GPZ7000, they said it is going to be in the range of $10,500 plus Bloody hell I can buy 2 for that

Bit like playing poker isn't it? It would be at this point (price) that I would throw in my cards and say "deal me out"

Gee Wizz
That seams a bit steep!!!!
I am interested in thoughts on the following, with the above speculated price of $10500, which to my way of thinking is way outside of the budget for most budget conscious persons starting out in this hobby!! What is the likelihood of Minelab continuing to produce & sell the GPX5000???? to me if the above price is true or even +- $1000, then Minelab will leave a huge gap in their market share if they do not continue with the GPX5000, just going on the current RRP GPX5000 $6500 +- SDC2300 $3995, so if they discontinued the GPX5000 there would be a gap of $6500 there about between the GPZ7000 & the SDC2300.
SDC2300 = $3995.
GPX5000 = $6500.
GPZ7000 = $10500 (speculation)
To me having 3 "High Performance" detectors available to increase the choice to consumers makes perfect business sense & will make a big difference to the dealers trying to sell these things, just my thoughts.

Re: GPZ7000 Price
Hell, that is steep. It would have to live up to the add that says it will go 40% deeper that 5000 and the 4500, and that is in highly mineralized ground to.
I am waiting for some reports when it comes out from respected operators that it is what the add claims is the case. If i can beat my cancer and can get lucky enough with surgery and out again, we have a honey spot that we are hanging out to get back to.
will then be purchasing a new machine for this area.

That's not good TG, hope you beat it, and then find some big ones. Cheers Harry

Re: GPZ7000 Price
it would be good to take it to an area that once produced stacks of gold nuggets but has totally been cleaned out of the past 20 years by dectectorists and is no longer giving up any nuggets and see how much gold it can find, if it really can go 40% deeper then it should find heaps of nuggets .

Hey Papoutsi what would a 64 year old KIdney be worth. One Owner, Urgent sale saving up for a new Detector.
Maybe I should go to Items Wanted or For Sale.

Re: GPZ7000 Price
whew that's 11,000 NZ$
7.5 ounces of yellow to the best buyer.
All depends upon under what conditions does the 40% extra depth occur, if it's only in very hot ground that it creams all over the 5000 then I'll be keeping what I have including my gold.
Although If the 3 Pros are unimpressed with it's performance then maybe it likes quieter ground and will be best suited to the US and NZ. (Steve Herschbach seems mighty impressed)
Price is a disappointment 10 grand mark is a bit of a psychological barrier, they should've kept it under.
$9,995 sounds a whole lot better. maybe ?
Cheers

5-15k to join a half decent club. [that's every year]
$100 every time you play.
and then there is the 19th hole, and the cab ride home.

G'day Mono
It's fair enough to for them to be taking pre orders, but I'm a bit surprised that they are the only ones with advanced notice of a price, my understanding is that all info and price etc will be released after a certain meeting in the USA and until then I think they should not be mentioning price because they don't really know.
Are they using softening up tactics or scare tactics
cheers dave

Hi Dave
That particular company has representatives at the conference so may be they are privy to the price..but yes wait and see...
As far as WA dealers go I'm the only one that isnt over there due to work committments and i'm saving me money for the new machine..

Re: GPZ7000 Price
That's a lot of money, they'd want to have there facts straight about there claims and where they achieved them. Makes you wonder, up to 40% increase is massive where did this come from? 10 to 20 I could bye 40% is incredible.

The GPZ 7000 will probably cause a lot of divorces when the husbands come home with their new detector and the wives find the $10,000 price tag.

Re: GPZ7000 Price
For all you older gents how about this:
Keep your 5000 and head out bush in one of these for $10,000.
Jaguar S Type 2001
For us Victorians that would exclude half of Daylesford and about 15 percent of the rest.
And you wont have to dig deep holes.
