G'day Jen,

Good to see you guys are off to a great start!!

Just wondering how all the cooking ideas are turning out. You've been over there a little while now so you should have been able to instruct the other (un-named) members of your party how to cook. I have this great mental image of you, after a hard day's detecting, sitting back in your camp chair, an icy cold cardonnay in hand, feet up on a stool, and a slave giving your aching feet a bit of a massage, another slave waving a gum branch (probably not many palm fronds where you are) to keep you cool and keep the flies away.... all the while the smells of dinner wafting from the kitchen... ahhhhhh, life's tough huh?

Q41  Time for me to get outta here...!!

Cheers...

Andrew.

Helloooo Barkley48

As I read your post! I was doing this the whole way..

 Q25   Q25   Q25   Q25

I love the image you have in your head.. About me...
But .....
I can assure you.. You have it all wrong.. You know you do.. Cheeky!!  Laughing

oh I wish it was true.. But sadly it isn't  V12
I do get a little help  Rolling Eyes

The cooking ideas...  T10  I have tried Shiraz's recipe... Wasn't bad either..

One of the fellows that came with us.. Who is Nuggetseeker ( John ) on the forum..
Well he came back yesterday with three bits of gold..
Weight was 2x12 grammers plus a 2 and a half grammer.. He did well..
He sure works hard for it though..
I will see if I can get a pic up of the bits he found..

Stay tuned....

I would steer clear of eating too much of Shiraz's gastronomic recipes otherwise you may come back 20kgs heavier than when you left  T02

Hi all..

Gus you are probably right... Because when I made Shiraz's meal..
Mike and I went halfs, I made wayyyy too much.. Rolling Eyes

We don't need to be putting on any more weight... Come over here to lose it.. Q13

Thankyou JW..
Will try to keep you all updated when we can..

Hi Costadee...
Unfortunately not all targets are golden.. Q07
Lots of rust, lead, old tin cans.. To name a few..
It is nice when we find an area... that most sounds are golden  Q10

Ok with permission from (John) Nuggetseeker.. Here is his finds so far..

Our W.A.trip for 2014. - Page 2 C10F84E0-71B9-4C51-A6F0-99733954467A-150-0000000138AC2A9E_zps61f15269

Oh bugger!! Net won't run to well tonight!!!
The specie that John found that's not on the scales.. Weighed in at 88.53grams.. It has gold showing all the way around it..
So we are all guessing there might be about 10 grams of gold in it..  V19  just a guess..
I don't think John cares.. He is very happy..

Sun going down at camp..

Dear Jen and Gus, I think you might have got the size of the trays wrong. The photos I took exaggerated the size of the trays we used. (Fish-eye lens) Our trays are only 4" x 3" x 1 1/2"deep. Kon and I are both lean mean gold getting machines. Greek Gods I tell ya!  Q24
Jen, now how is Mike going to detect all day if ya keep stuffin that much food into him?  Q35

Hi Jen,
I notice you have your dog with you, but I haven't been game enough to take our dogs in the past because I have heard that dogs are not allowed on leases.
Have you experienced this in the past,I know the dog is wearing a muzzle because of baits, or is this a proviso for stock protection.

I wouldn't let my dog loose on any Pastoral land out bush... 1080 bait signs everywhere in WA and I know are aerial dropped regularly, around Paynes Find, Yalgoo and Mt Magnet.
Mining land can also be baited. One lick of a bait will put an end to your dog because there is nowhere to take em while they are howling in agony, running in circles and into trees. She's being smart.

Some dog owners still put there dogs at risk off the lead like I do at times, but my mutt lives for a ride out bush and I can't leave him at home when I pack the ute he knows my detector bag too well and waits shotgun on the front seat as soon as a door is opened.

Hi Nuggiedreamer for the reply.I realize the muzzle is to protect against baits. What I would like to know if it is a problem taking dogs along when detecting on leases.

G'Day cadian we have not had a problem with taking our dog on to pastoral leases in wa we ask first before we enter. It all depends on the pastoral leasee we all ways use muzzles on our dog we have seen first hand what 1080 can do . the pastoralist will normally tell you where they have baited , as for big mining leases it can be differnt baits all over the place. then again we only have a mini fox terrier. cheers lonewolf.

G'day blisters,

Thanks for the congrats and well wishes. As for the temps well we come over here to get away from the cold weather in Vic this time of the year. The temps here for the last couple of weeks has been getting into the low to mid 20*c and no rain, just sunny blue skies. I haven't been watching the temps back home, but I think it would be a bit cooler and wetter. Hope this makes some sense....

Hey Bill what's the weather been like back home???
