Darn!!!!

I seem to have waited a lifetime to find my favourite glasses too. But then I replaced them with these tinted ones, which are much better for the West. V08

They just don't have the character I reckon.

Hi all.
For those that are wondering how we are doing..
Well we started to head for home, since last Wednesday,  taking an easy drive back.
not long to go now..

It's been a windy drive so far.. Side winds, head winds, we needed tail winds.. lol!

Having a rest, then should be home in the next couple of days..

Wishing you safe travels to see you home, Jen/Mike, pity about the head winds, WA wants you to hang around a little longer.

We are home  T15

We Just want to say
Thankyou Western Australia   T01  we had a ball.

Loved every minute over there.
Great people, great weather..
And a little bit of gold.. What a great holiday from cold victoria.

I guess you all would like to know what we found all up?

Just want to say, it was all old ground we had been on last year, also a couple of private leases, which are pretty much hammered, plus a mining lease, if only we were allowed to have had one of those pretty big yellow detectors there, oh I think we would have found heaps!  Laughing

Between the three of us
20 ounces was found..

Total fuel cost from Kalgoorlie to Maryborough, vic, was $740.

Nightjar... I think you may be right.. We had head winds and side winds all the way home..
We should have stayed a little longer
Just starting to get a tad warm over your way now..
well for us.. lol!

Hi Roger, glad you are enjoying our trip T06

G'day Jen

Thanks for the update on how your trip went, it was good to see the pics and the storys of your time in WA as the weeks turned into months, and your final report, and a safe uneventful return trip, even though you had to battle some strong head winds along the way.

cheers dave

Thanks Dave
We were lucky that the trip home we had no dramas
As just not far out of Norseman we were being flashed by the cars and trucks going the other way
Then there were the police slowing all traffic down.
Then there it was, a 4 wheel drive turned on its side laying across the left lane, with a carvan still attached to it, but the carvan partly in the ditch and was still upright and look ok scratch ( it looked to be at least a 16 foot pop top..)
Didn't look like anyone was hurt.. Q10

Hi Bill & John
You two know where we are, drop in anytime.
Hey John, when you do get a van, make sure it's dust proof..
We are still cleaning the dust out of ours..

G'day All,
Thanks for all the great comments/best wishes.  Yes we finally made it back home in one piece and having a rest.  Then we have to do some serious Dust busting.  lol!   That red Dust gets into everything.

G'day Someday,
No we didn't have any high expectations, although it would be very nice to have found 10x more.  lol!   We never expect to find too much, but if we find enough to cover our trip then we are very happy.  Smile   Laughing
Although our son likes to find more.. Laughing

So once again we had a great time over in WA and met some great people there as well.

Cheers.

Mike & The Crew.

Hi The Digger..

That may have been what happened to the car and caravan we saw.. Who knows V19

It's happened to us in the past, had treated pine posts loaded onto a trailer, they weren't loaded properly, and we did a around about face, also once towing a camper trailer, ended up on the other side of the road, lucky there was no traffic each time it happened..

Not a nice feeling either affraid

Has any one else had any mishaps like these??

Not personally, but years back between Scamander & Falmouth on Tas east coast a car & van was following me across a sort of causeway (road built up above paddock height). A high side wide. It lifted the van which swayed then up and splat on the road. Silly thing was; in disbelief at what was happening so fast I was pointing saying "look, look, look ", not conveying it was happening in the rear view mirror, the passengers though I was off the planet.
