Well Done fellas.

Why dont you propose a venue, such as a pub somewhere just to say hello or maybe a phone number for people to ring. You can use this forum as you wish in this regard.

It may be even worthwhile putting an article on the Discussion Area asking people if they are interested to check the Detecting Clubs forum for information

Tasmania Club Empty Tassie Detecting/Prospecting/Panning Club

Post  Cashman Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:13 pm

G'day all you Mob in Tassie,
Was beginning to think I was the only silly bugger dumb enough over here to be into this hobby. Have done heaps of research on all different areas where gold has been found around Tassie, and have been out in the field quite a bit also. Have ventured up to the Golden Triangle in Victoria a few times as well as a couple of trips over to the West (Central Goldfields W.A.) with another trip not too far distant as well. There are a few people from Lefroy in Tassie with Leases over there (WA) at the moment as well as many other Tasmanians scattered around the place.
Mick, I wouldn't mind poppin' down the West Coast with you some time also, to see how you do things. Starting to get a bit sick of going around on my own, as a coupla' times I've near come to grief, once with a Tiger Snake out in the middle of the mulga, and the other time my Patrol got a bit stuck you might say. Never mind, all turned out for the best in the end.
I run an old GP Extreme, but she does the job required of her okay when required, and also a bit of sieving and 'tin dishing'. If anything comes of this club idea, you can count me in, even if it is just a gathering to share knowledge, or a group outing somewhere, I'll still be more than interested. Cheers, Cashman.

gday Shane , well have been out of action for last week or so , but good to hear we have someone else interested that makes nearly 20 people now , I will be hopefully calling another guy greenwell2 to see what we can organise over next couple of weeks for a get together and chat in near future the only problem being that we are all scattered over tassy so a place might not be easy for all to get to , anyway what area are you from and could we also have a contact number in case we need to ring around to get day setup thanks again

Howdy all ,
just posted this on another forum as well.
and especially the Tasmanians on here. Am thinking it is about time we tried to get a few of us together and do some detecting and discussing of the idea of a club. I am in Devonport and would suggest we meet somewhere central ...Campbelltown,,,Ross,,,Bothwell or some such. I was originally thinking of the Monday of the long weekend. May be a bit close. So ideas would be appreciated..

Post  Henry Williamson Thu May 31, 2012 9:11 am

Hi and hello have always had an interest in prospecting but confess I do not know much about it. Have dabbled in looking for saphires and I am always picking up rocks etc. If a club has started in Tassie I would be interested in becoming a member Harry (lives in Ulverstone)

I've also started a Facebook group if any of you guys are on there...

go to Facebook and search for 'Tasmanian Prospectors & Fossickers', and then when you find it, join the group!

gives us an easy way to organise prospecting missions and ideas
