Nugget Tech Coil
Hi all,
I have recently bought a WA made Nugget Tech 18.5" X 12" mono coil (GPX4500), the problem I have been experiencing on a recent trip to Leonora is, when I am swinging the detector and the cable touchs my leg it lets out a scream, it will also do that if you squeeze the cable with your fingers.
Has anyone any ideas or is this coil of the female gender? LoL

Re: Nugget Tech Coil
G'day Strijk. Welcome to the Forum.
I take it your referring to your power cable? If so,check to see if your power cables connectors are screwed on nice and tight from battery to machine end.Loose connectors will give off false signals. If this ain't the case try using another power lead to see if it does the same thing and if it does, the fault will be with either the coil lead or coil lead connector plug(loose wire or cold soldered joint). To check if its the coil try putting another coil on and see if you get the same noise,if not then there's most likely a problem with the coil itself.
Cheers kon61.

Nugget Tech
Hi guys,
An update, these coils had a glitch with the plug fitted. Thanks for your comments.
Peter from the patch was very helpful and the coil is going back under warranty.
While I was there I bought a GPX5000 as I sold the 4500 during the week on gumtree

Nuggetech
Gday, Ive got a fella camped out near us who is using a Nuggetech "Quenda" elliptical and I am Very impressed with its Performance so far. It ground balances very well, remains stable when my 17" nf elliptical gets a bit chattery and has a great signal response on gold targets. Now that theyve released an 18" round model Im seriously thinking of adding one to my kit. Cheers Evan

Re: Nugget Tech Coil
I'm impressed with the sensitivity the 24x14 has to little bits on the 5000.
Very stable and beeping in a thunderstorm the other day the only interference
was the actual lightning spikes.
Haven't put it over a big deep bit yet but I'm sure I'll hear it when I do.

Re: Nugget Tech Coil
looked at the 24x14 was almost tempted to get that over the 18x12 as it looked the buisness
but in the end decided it would never get within a foot of the ground in most of the areas i detect because of the bushes.
From the workout over the weekend it seemed to go ok early days yet did not go over any deep stuff but i have noticed all things the same i can run the gain 2 points higher than my coiltec 14in round wich was the biggest coil i had up till now
