Hi all,

Was reading back through some older posts dated Nov 2010 and read with intrest regarding the new nugget tech coils that have come onto the market. I notice that PP has had them for a few months now and was wondering whether anyone has bought one and tested them. Cant seem to find any links regarding field tests etc.
Can anyone shed any light on these coils as was'nt they supposed to be the ducks nuts of coils

They were pushing these coils with all sorts of claims but there's been absolutely no feedback on them at all. I'm wondering how many people bought them in the end because a lot of the prospectors I talk to are very keen to try new products when they come out and yet none of them were prepared to take a gamble on these ones. Any one else hear of any feedback?

Fella's

Aparently there was a delay with the launch of the Nugget Tech coils due to a
plastics company not being able to get raw materials.
Nugget tech Coils are now on the shelf at the p,patch.

I don't know... the last time the plastics suppliers ran out of pellets was over 6 or 8 months ago. I seem to remember that the first batch of these Nugget Tech coils was finished and it was advertised as "First come, first served" until the next batch were ready. Either this wasn't the case or it didn't happen. There was also a call to the prospectors stating the the coils were available on a particular release date - in NOVEMBER last year.

Nero

Just going on what i was told, i got a 18x12 "Dingo" Mono last week but
havnt been out with it yet due to a highly infected left hoof.
I can say that it certainly looks like a very well made coil though
and hopefully when the anti-biotics kick in and i can get out bush
the performance will be as good as it looks.
Will be swinging it on a 5000.

Hi Pete,
Best of luck with your foot. I know we never appreciate perfect health until we're incapacitated in some way. I look forward to your opinions of this coil when you get a chance to try it out.

All the best,

Marco

Hey Pete,

Shame about the foot. Will be good to hear how the new coil goes and whether it is as good as it claims to be.

Pete,

Just what were you doing with your foot??? Razz Razz Razz

I can't say I impressed with the little sticker saying "Warranty voided if removed"
Those little buggers come of quite freely when you've cleaned a coil often.

Hi Robert

You actually clean your coils Shocked and more than once Razz Razz Razz
I think its more a freindly reminder on the sticker, as most if not all manufacturers of
products wont honour a warranty claim if the serial number sticker was removed or
scratched off.

Dingo
Maybe its an OMEN affraid I know i would buy something if the model was called PETE
just incase it was good JU-JU.. lol!

GB
Your right, and i thought of a great way to detect if the foots gotta be amputated. lol!

Hi there, My wife has been using a dingo for a few weeks and is very impressed, she used to swing a coiltek 14" mono on her 4500, the dingo runs very quiet and she picked up a couple of pieces under .2 of a gram, the only gripe she has is where the cable touches the upper shaft any movement by the cable makes a lot of noise. My son has also purchased one and does not seem to have this problem, he is using a 4000 and just got his first two pieces last week and is very happy with it. Chris

I've heard some great things about the Nugget Tech range but have not had the opportunity to try one out yet and have not even been out for a swing ever before so I truly can't wait to get out there soon. In the mean time I have Mon Tue & Wed off but one of my tyres has an egg in it and they're not legal as they have only 1mm of tread on a few of em so have to save for tyres too, gonna try to get out there with the 11" mono that comes with the 5000 soon, maybe somewhere close to town to learn what my 5000 really sounds like rather than just dreaming about it. I read in Max Anderson's book "Digger" that he reckons each metal detector is unique from each other which I find interesting. Has anyone found that the same model of detector can sound different or can be more sensitive than another and is this still the same for newer models?

This one's for BeepinPete

This comment comes from NT's website

"They also deliver a very distinct target-detection signal across the full range of Gold Magnet coils."

How does a coil do this? I've never had a different signal from any coil I have ever used as I understand that the detector will dictate the response not the coil.

G'day Robert

"They also deliver a very distinct target-detection signal across the full range of Gold Magnet coils."

I think what they are trying to say is the target signal is very compacted and not a warble type of
sound mate as we can sometimes get.
I know the gold ive been getting with the 18x12 has been so bloody obvious to hear on the 5000
it makes me wonder how it has been missed at times... Rolling Eyes
