Researching old gold Areas
this link will give you access to newspapers as far back as 1803 from all states and news of gold finds both well known and obscure
all you have to do is type the place you are researching along with the word gold into the search engine
i managed to get heaps of reports from the qld geologist from the mid 1800 s reporting on gold areas
i have already found many locations that are quite obscure where gold was once found as during the gold rush miners would often leave a small field and rush off to a big gold find and the old field became forgotten
http://ndpbeta.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/home
only drawback is the computer generated spelling can be a pain

Re: Researching old gold Areas
Link works fine for me too. It might be your internet security stopping it redirecting.
