I'm still pinging some nice little nuggets from the same spot,8 today and 3 the other day[still waiting for that deep murmur]
Big fat juicy spiders are aplenty at the moment, I'm still amazed at their engineering skills by being able to attach a web to a blade of grass some distance away for structural support.
Not sure how they actual decide what to use, do they actual look around and think that's a good looking anchor point. Life's big question

Well some of them have pretty good vision I reckon.
One day a year or so back I watched an orb Weaver build his web from woe to go.
I spotted him up on the eaves one late afternoon and watch it pacing up and down for a few minutes and then he drops down on his web to the driveway, strolls across the drive way and heads straight to the fence post on the opposite side like he had it all planed out, climbs the post , parks at the top and retrieves his single strand web that he came down on, pulls it tight then heads across it to his starting point at the top of the roof, has a bit of a think and then drops another runner and anchors it to the house and on and on this activity went till he had this bloody great web built across my driveway.. I didn't take the car out that night, ya know how big these orb weavers can get By the time I got up the next day he had pulled the web down and was no doubt sleeping somewhere. The next evening it was strung between two pine trees on my front nature strip. He seemed to like that spot coz he put it up night after night until one day I think a currawong got him.

Got out for a couple of hours today at the most flogged place on earth,I'd given up going there because it was DONE TO DEATH!
It's a nice part of the world and only went there for a walk, not expecting a cracker.
I got a zippy little signal through thick leaf litter and was expecting some lead a 2.55 gmer
Just goes to show ,never say; done to death

Re: FLYSPEC 2021
These are appropriate for the flyspec thread, some RAG territory gold, about 5 days detecting so not special but visited some good spots while I was up there
All but 2 were specimens, mainly in ironstone, no doubt there is potential up there but you have to find somewhere that the gold Is coarse as a lot of places microscopic gold ,some areas I was in plenty of shafts but no workings below
Cheers

I wasn't far off that size scrap last Saturday in the Triangle. Took me 2.5hrs (seriously) to unearth a chunk of steel from underneath what i thought was a 150 year old tree.

Another trip to Tarnagulla today, as I'll probably never get back to WA prospecting this is the closet country to it.
It was very quiet with the odd bird song and some chunky Quartz reef poking it's head out.
1.1 gms all up and a couple of deep digs to get the heart racing but alas only deep iron/rust and a button.
Hopefully end of lockdown soon guys and gals, hang in there

Re: FLYSPEC 2021
A blustery day out in the wilds today, I've known of this spot for a long time out near eureka reef in Castlemaine.
A large shaft surrounded by the tailings from it, a raised area I guesstimate to roughly 70mx 150m x 3m of blue stone shale/slate.
It's an incredible amount of rock from one mine shaft,in the back ground is a foundation for what looks like a steam powered winch.
To the left is the remains of concrete flooring and a bucket that was some distance away; which weighed a ton, I couldn't budge it,
Those guy's did it tough in the good old days
No tiddlers though

Re: FLYSPEC 2021
My first piece was a massive 0.05 gram, followed by a 0.42 gram piece which was bigger than I expected. Finally I nailed another huge one at 0.06 gram. 0.52 gram all up.
Not bad for an area that we have thrashed over the past 12 months.
I dips me lid to you Moredeep.
