Even though Covid has come to SA( at an adjacent Suburb, shopping Centre +) I am waiting the 6 months.... the future.... boosters every 3 months??

Unless its mandated/manipulated my McG that a booster is required within the last 3 months to get into WA.

In spite of vaccinations, severe lockdowns, social distancing, masks and all the other preventative measures there have been 126,923 infections and 1365 deaths in Victoria alone, directly attributed to covid-19.

But don’t worry, this is all just a “scamdemic” concocted by the government and the press.

Just pop your head back in the sand, mate, along with all those other protesting Victorians who are finding it hard to understand and accept the gravity of this worldwide threat!

All of this may be true but we have a pandemic which we can do something about to reduce the death toll and hospitalizations:vaccines! Very Happy

While deaths from the covid19 are a problem, like motor accidents where it is the number of maimed and injured that we never see, Long Covid is a major problem we hear little about. Many people who survive the initial infection are going to suffer debilitating pain for many years and shortness of breath while being subject to increased pulmonary infections..

Then we have a huge influx of hospital patients from the unvaxed predicted to require hospital care over the coming months. This influx will mean our front line workers will be even more stressed along with the entire system. Those who are vaccinated will also be in danger of catching the virus but very few of these will require hospitilisation thus helping to keep the strain off our medical system. Plus the vaccinated will be only mildly affected and hopefully not suffer from Long Covid.

With our hospitals overflowing with the unvaxed suffering and dying there will be little or no room for those suffering from other medical conditions such as heart attacks, stroke and even life saving elective surgery. Car accident victims will likely have a higher chance of dying due to the clogged health system put under immense pressure by those who choose not to be vaccinated.

And having read the stories from some of our nurses about how many unvaccinated patients come into hospital suffering very badly from covid begging to be vaccinated only to be told by the doctors it is too late for them I feel badly for them but there is nothing we can do if they have chosen to follow some crazy conspiracy theory and simply be very selfish by imposing their so called rights upon the rights those who have done the right thing.

All I can say to them is GET VACCINATED or pay the consequences. And like the flue shots we have each year, annual covid shots are here to stay as we learn to live with this additional virus in our lives.

Unfortunately, these are the uncertain times we face Granite. No one can force anyone into taking a vaccine, each one of us do so at our own free will, but lets not allow belief blind us, from the facts that surround us.

Kon, I was suggesting they get vaccinated not that they be forced to do so. And to think of what the consequences of not being vaccinated can have for them and their family, not to mention so many innocent people who have done the right thing.

I know you were not suggesting people should be forced to vaccinate Jim. I might not have stated it right. It were meant as a general comment for the ones preferring (for what ever their reasons) not to vaccinate. But as you say, the consequences of not being vaccinated for the protection of covid-19, can be life threatening for some, as well as their close friends or family.

As I've said before,if this was a disease that had a 100% death rate the whole nation would be vaccinated overnight Laughing

We are so lucky to be living in times of advanced technologies that scientist's can develop these vaccines promptly and as the virus mutates
they can immediately tweak vaccines to protect us from the mutants.
My hat goes off to the hard working scientist who themselves must be exhausted,it's been a long slog for 2 years now and unfortunately probably more to come.
