Little bit of whipstick gold
Finally back out amongst it over the last week pickin up bits with the sdc. Nothing flash but good to see that colour again. Was actually a mission with a purpose... this gold will be made into wedding rings for myself and my missus, mixed with silver from a charm bracelet I found years back detecting and set with some gems that I got fossiking up in NQ.

Re: Little bit of whipstick gold
Cheers guys, the missus actually proposed to me (on her birthday) so now we have two weddings to plan... one here and one in Italy (for her family and friends)
Wombat, I reckon at least 200-300 lead shot for that 45 or so bits (not a bad ratio I reckon)
I don't mind finding them, I take solace in the fact I'm pickin up targets others missed therefore I'll also find gold others missed. Even if it does have that wobbly signal that a spherical target gives off or it's in the topsoil (right on the clay layer) I dig em all. I've got gold in all circumstances o at the years so you never know.
