Old prospector in a young body
Hi my names Adam I've been in the game for about 3-4 years but I have always known that I had a love for gold but it never triggered in me till one day me and all my mates were talking about it and we were all yeah gunna gunna gunna but I'm not a gunna I'm a do-er so from then i got a pan and sieve set and of i went to my local area Turtons Creek and we new a spot were some had been got so just dug a few holes sieved it of and took it home cause i forgot at this stage i did not know how to pan so i went home watch Freddy Dodge how to pan like a pro so i got this one arm bandit action going and it worked really well i was getting really small gold (needed a magnifying glass to see it) and then in the last pan i got a nice piece so for months and months kept trying then was getting nothing so i bought a small sluice from Arizona from prospectors choice its what could afford around 300 dollars i added some spray bars and a extra bildge pump 3000 gph this would help with smashing the clay up there as i found out you have to dig pretty deep but there is good sections that are payable that are in the clay i managed to get a few good clean ups any where from 10-20 pieces so then i hit bed rock and cause WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DREDGE IN VICTORIA which some people up there do not understand so i bought a hand sucker from Prospecting Australia which works well if you work well a little more success and then i bought my self a Garrett ATX deepseeker package haven't had any luck with it yet just a few coins but down hear Foster Turtons creek and in between is mostly private land of steep steep hills the source was never found and when they left they gold fields they all said they were very close to it. Now it time for me to spread my wings explore this beautiful country and hope i have so luck on the way. PROSPECTING IS A BIT LIKE FISHING ITS MORE IN THE CHASE THEN THE CATCH!!! I would love to hear from other ATX users or anyone with some tips or advice I'm open for all I'm still learning and I will be for ever cheers. Adame6

Hi mate, your story is very interesting. It's more about the hunt than the capture for sure. If it were my job I wouldn't last long. As a hobbyist, the excitement and anticipation of the trip is great. cheers Pete.
