Some lovely finds there Jen Just had a quick look, the members finds section does not stay up that long do they? Have seen many a nice nugget in that section over the years, in hind sight a lot should have been put into memorable finds section before they disappeared off the pages. Have they gone forever or are they retrievable?

Hi bloodgold2
Sadly they are gone
Unless some one out there knows how to find them..
If this thread takes off we will place them where you mentioned

Well that is a shame, from memory don't think I have ever put any finds in there neither.

Re: Members Gold Album (lets get this topic going again please )
Not my biggest day but my most memorable day. After finding a few crumbs spread over a wide area I persisted and found a small area that coughed up 20 oz's in an hour. 8 years down the track and the area has produced over sixty ounces for me. Most of the nuggets are buried under deep tablelands loam soil and give off only subtle broad signals. It taught me to be thorough when checking many gold areas where gold can be concentrated in very small areas or sheds ...I keep forgetting the lesson occasionally though.

Great pieces as usual members.
It's fantastic to see everyone sharing a few pics or vids.
This is more than likely the smallest collection the will be shown. But its ours.
These represent my entire history of detecting, with each bag being a trip of anything up to 8 days. The majority of this gold has been found with my sons. Which in-turn holds great memories for the three of us. The one thing I love about natural gold (colours) is the individual nature of each and every piece.
Simply awesome.
There is a little over an ounce collectively. They really do add up?
Simply awesome.
Cheers,
Lee.

Re: Members Gold Album (lets get this topic going again please )
One of my most memorable moments, was when lobbing on to a small rich pocket of gold (rich for these days, but more common & much larger in size, back in the 1850's) which measured 8 inches wide by 8 inches deep. Several thousand tiny bits of gold, for just over 7 ounces worth, all up. I was lucky enough to have Slim there with me witnessing and panning off the gold, of which the first 5kg of dirt, kept producing 5/6 grams of gold, per coffee cup panned. I can only dream, of what rich pockets of gold consisted of, back in the hey days? Cheers guy's, Kon

Wow Kon61, A memorable moment indeed and great you were able to share the find experience with Slim. Just added a small/can be large pocket like that to my golding bucket list, Sh.t !
And i felt pleased with getting 6 little nuggies from the same hole !
Cheers

Re: Members Gold Album (lets get this topic going again please )
G'day All,
A big thanks for all your great pics and stories. Please keep them coming.
Here is a pic of my finds from our 2016 WA trip all these were found with my ZED.
Most of the very small nuggies ended up in the melting pot and became those gold bars that Jen put in the members finds section.
Cheers.
Mike.

The Members Album thread was hijacked and sabotaged by agitators who have now been banned.

Re: Members Gold Album (lets get this topic going again please )
Thanks Ash/Jay. Like I said, I was glad to have Slim with me at the time, to witness such a rich little pocket of accumulated gold, of who knows how long, for we found it hard to believe, not alone getting others to believe in what we found. We ended up on our bellies, like 2 beached walruses, carefully prising out several bits of colour at a time, with our pocket knives, for an hour or so, before deciding to dig all around the main run, removing about 5kg of dirt to a depth of about 8 inches for panning.
Cheers Kon.

Some nice waterworn pieces there GG. Many of the waterworn nuggets I find at a couple places also have the circular blisters that stick out on the flat nugget surfaces like you have on some of yours. I cannot work out how the blisters form on waterworn surfaces...maybe pressure when they are under tonnes of sediment. The blisters are a distinct recurring feature on some waterworn flat nuggets....love to know how they form. cheers Tributer

Hey tributer, yes they are very peculiar pieces and I have awe struck by them in the past aswell, one reoccurring feature has been that's these specific bits have been found on or near a hill that has been reformed by an anticline. So I back your sediment theory.
Cheers GG
