Performance on Salt and on the beach
How does a GPX machine perform in the salt flats of WA in smooth mode?
How does a GPX machine perform in wet beach sand in smooth mode?
What about other interference?

Re: Performance on Salt and on the beach
Hi shinegold,
I don't know much about beach detecting but try the search function, top right hand corner and type in "beach detecting". There are some interesting things said there...
Cheers goldenbrown...

Smooth or Enhance are not the best timings for conductive (salt) ground types.

That's interesting and surprising. I wonder if it is still bearable. Thanks for the reply.
I have read in an article (GGT I think) that it was useful in those situations but, as to how much and to what extent I don't know. Someone else has mentioned this as well, though I have learned that when someone says about detectors that something's quiet it's usually because they want to believe it is.
I like the smooth and enhance modes, they seem to be able to handle just about anything, looks like they are made mainly for + mineralisations.

Re: Performance on Salt and on the beach
The GPX4500 is very sensitive to changes in salt concentration and I haven't found any setting that makes a significant difference on the beach. However depth and operation are still excellent and the best solution work along lines of similar concentration.
