best beach setup for 705?
Lately ive been hitting the beach with my xterra 705 and while ive been killing it on dry sand with coins ive been struggling on wet sand. Been using coin mode, auto noise cancel, 30 volume, 9-10 thresold, 20-24 sensitivity, 4 tones. When i try wet sand i get false signals, like being close to an electric fence. Tried beach mode but had the same thing. Any help would be appreciated, i want to hit some low spots

X-terra beach settings
Are you using the 'beach setting'? Should show up as a little umbrella on your screen. Then run your sensitivity about 15.

Re: best beach setup for 705?
i highly recommend you use prospecting mode FIRST and then switch to coin mode for target id then back to prospecting mode for pin pointing.
to properly setup for wet sand, i strongly suggest the following:
1) select prospecting mode
2) select beach mode (hold gb until umbrella appears)
3) exit gb (you cannot set beach mode and ground balance simultaneously)
4) select gb again
5) select auto ground balance and ground balance over the wet sand (gb should be around the high 70's)
follow the same procedure in coin mode.
note: dont let the coil touch the wet sand or all youll hear is falsing.
note: always remember to exit out of beach mode when on dry sand or all youll hear is falsing.
note: always re-ground balance after switching to and from beach mode.
