Re: Wireless Battery System
I have.
As of yet I haven't had a chance to use it but if it works as good as it looks (and I have no doubt it will) it will be a beauty. My first impressions were, what a quality well thought out and designed bit of gear!
No more cords (apart from bungi) between me and the detector. Compact, lightweight and switches where they should be .
The communication and backup from Ismael has been fantastic, any questions are answered immeadiately. The instructions are comprehensive and easy to follow.
The battery charger unit is a gem! suitable and programable for multiple different battery types, not just the wireless unit.
As I said, haven't used it yet, but so far very impressed!

Re: Wireless Battery System
Whats to stop some one from using a set up with an fm transmitter reciever.
The transmitter on the detector and reciever on the booster on your back pack.
Then it is wireless
What do you guys think?

Re: Wireless Battery System
Hi Zacc...I tried something simillar on my extreme years ago and had no end of problems so gave up..Most likely though was my own lack of knowing what I was doing.
I had static problems plus a lag time between the coil passing over a target and when it registered in the reciever. Not to mention no savings on weight and componants.
What I have now is a reciever and amp in one and a battery and sender in one, less componants and less weight.
Plus I like neat...and this unit is neat!

Re: Wireless Battery System
hi steve
is there a delay from when you go over a target and receive a signal with this set up?
what battery does the detector run on?
cheers

Re: Wireless Battery System
Hey Madfish
Sounds interesting.
Ismaels site doesn't really explain how this works. Nice photos but.
Does a new, smaller battery hang off the control box and the audio and power plugs into that and this then transmits a signal to the receiver on your backback?
cheers
Brett

Re: Wireless Battery System
If I might break in here..........
@ Mulgadancer
If you look at Ismaels site you will see that the battery/transmitter is in one box that velcros the detector and the receiver has the headphone/ speaker jack in it and either fits into your shirt pocket or back pack. I had mine in the backpack. It will work up to 10 meter away from your detector.
@ Fencejumper
No , there is no signal delay at all. I was pleasantly suprised at the sharp clear level of signal. Could even back the threshold off a tad and still get a nice clear signal
I was testing mine against the old system over the weekend. Will come back in detail when I have finished the tests.
Cheers,
Driller.

Re: Wireless Battery System
thanks for that driller
has anyone used it in the field a fair bit, if so are there any drawbacks of anysort? and how long does the battery last with a decent size coil on, say 18 inch?
cheers
