Newbie from Townsville
Gidday All
Just looking at getting into detecting ,wind blows to much to fish every weekend .I have been looking at The Garrett AT Pro and am wondering if you guys would recomend something different or better.I would like to do abit of everything (gold, beach coins etc).Budget is around $700 -800 but if there is something cheaper that suits my needs I am all ears.I am a complete novice and probably need all the help I can get.
Thanks in advance and for letting me join the forum

Re: Newbie from Townsville
My choice of a multi-purpose Garrett detector would be the new CSI-Pro, only available from Better Garrett Dealers.
As said it's new and not widely known, I might have the only one in private use so if you wish to have a go....I'm in Cairns.

Re: Newbie from Townsville
Told you only from Better Garrett Dealers.
When you say AT-Pro I presume you mean AT-Pro International as it is the one imported and sold in Australia.
CSI-Pro is all Pro. no Std. mode, it's a lot easier to use and very audio compatible with our coinage.
Took it for a spin on a beach this morning, very sweet all the way to the water edge and dead easy to set up.
Link to Importer.
http://www.garrettaustralia.com.au/products/CSI-Pro.html
Do not worry about the price, it is for the full kit with is seen further down the page (Included with the CSI Pro)
Call NQ Miners Den in Cairns when open in the new year.
I got the full kit while it was on XMas special.........no more all sold
More info.
http://www.garrett.com/securitysite/security_csi_pro_main.aspx
I've had an AT-Pro International and tried the AT-Gold.......My choice CSI-Pro.

Re: Newbie from Townsville
Gidday again fellas,
After days of interneting and reading I am still scratching my head .I am looking at Garrett ATPro,ATGold Or CSI or Minelab X-terra 705,just wondering is the usa X-Terra exactly the same as the Aussie one .I see minelab is worldwide warranty if bought from registered dealer.
Which detector would any of you guys choose ,I cant spend a fortune but scratch my head at some prices Overseas
thanks regards gary

Re: Newbie from Townsville
Hi Garry
I too am from Townsville, I will be home in early Feb, I am also a TMDC member & recommend it there are members that have several types of detectors & I am sure they would give you a bit of hands on work, I have a Gold snoop pro that you could borrow to have a play, I also have a Gold bug pro & an SD2200d.
Come along to a meeting ask a few ??? & see where it takes you.
good luck, a club member dtects the park after groovin the moo & gets on average $800 for a week.
