Another Newb! Empty Another Newb!

Post  archcat74 Mon Jun 11, 2012 8:04 pm

Hey all. Last week I bought a Garrett AT Gold. I've never owned or used a detector in my life so I'm looking forward to finding something with this. I haven't had much time to really get out to use it apart from a couple of hours in the forest nearby me. Found an axe head heaps of .22 casings, struck a live one with the pick, luckily it was pretty old and just fizzled and smoked a bit!

I live in Ballarat so it would appear I may be spoiled for choice on locations but I need to learn where the bloody h3ll to go!

Cheers,

Brett

LOLOLOL G'day Brett ... brilliant post!! I'm sure we're all in the same boat ... no matter how experienced we are ... or are not!!

I've no idea about Ballarat ... but if you want, I'd be happy to send you a few co-ordinates from my Ballarat list .... I just haven't got there to check them out myself.

They are not anything super special ... just some co-ords that are pretty well easily available. Anyway it might give you a bit of a start.

PM me if you're interested.

My problem is getting time. I work shift work so I get 5 days off but with a little one to look after sometimes time gets away. I usually average 2 full days to myself each time. Gonna try the pan this week too!

Welcome Brett. Bullets, lead and junk are all part of detecting (sadly).

Welcome to the Forum Brett.

Patience is a virtue in this game pal. You'll find, the more ground time you put in,the more your chances will increase, towards unearthing the elusive yellow.

Cheers kon61.
