G'day all, I am in Qld and have just picked up 2 detectors to get myself into the game. The first is an old ALDI brand detector with the swinging needle (not digital) found and iron pipe at 12 inches in wet clay ground already. The other and my new main toy is a Minelab sd2000 I paid $100 for it and need ALL the advice I can get on how to use it (it is stock I know that much) I havent had time to swing it yet but will be as soon as find somewhere nearby that shows promise.

G'day Chatta71 and welcome to the forum

2 detectors you say, I wouldn't put much faith in the Aldi one, it might go ok in parks and on the beach looking for coins.

The SD2000 should work ok if it isn't broken down, this model found enormous amounts of gold in the mid to late 1990's, good luck with you purchases.

If you haven't got a user manual for the SD2000 you can download one for the Minelab site.
