G'day Ladies & Gents,

I'm just curious to know what your favourite general prospecting coil was/is for the GP3000?

Cheers,
SHREEVE.

ive only had my 3000 for just under 2 months. i have a few coils but hands down my fav so far is the old coiltek mini ufo. its light and manouverable, has great depth and sensitivity. not to mention it was quiet as in an area of fast changing mineralisation.

Hi SHREEVE my favorite coil on the 3000 was also the mini UFO coil found a lot of gold at depth with that set up.

Would have to agree the Mini ufo is a great coil, but found it far more suited to WA dirt. For the triangle a Coiltek 11 dd pro does a great job.As GP machines have full timings they can get noisey with Monos.I suppose it depends which style of detecting you prefer.Recognise the potential target thru the noise or run the machine as stable as possible and pick the slight whispers.I prefer the second method. For newbies with GP machines in the triangle DD detecting requires a better swing than running Monos. You must go slower keep it level with no coil lift at the end of the swing. The coil must be close to the deck all the time.Get it right and you have a lethal combination.
Cheers Dig

I love my 17x11 coiltek DD pro. It's nice and quiet and is a great all rounder.
