Hey goldenhorn ,

I am currently running a 14" NFA Round Solid on my 4500 & i can say IMHO that this is a brilliant general purpose coil . Very sensitive on the small stuff & excellent on any sizable bits sitting a bit deeper .
The weight difference between the open spoked & solid doesnt bother me - its the convenience of being able to sit the coil on the ground & scrub the hell out of it without getting hooked up or snagged on various bits of ground cover . The solid is a good choice for hunting around the triangle - but like i said that is just my opinion . Dont forget your settings on the machine will also have an influence on the performance of the 14" or any size coil for that matter ...
Regards
Gully Hunter
