The Garrett Ace 250

Hi all,
My name is Matt Munro and i live on the central Coast i have been detecting the beaches and parks for about a year now with my Garrett Ace 250.
The Question i want to ask you all is Can i take my Garrett out and start prospecting for gold?Will it pick up Gold?I really dont know about the detecting lingo but i will learn.I am not in the position to buy a new as yet but was hoping i could get away with finding a few nuggets with the garrett.

hi MATT, - MONRO? HE WAS A FAMOUS SINGER IN THE 60,S/70,S. ANYWAY, WELCOME TO THE FORUM. use the search function to find answers to your questions, also, i,m sure the guys will be able to help too. yes, the ace 250 will find gold. if the ground is not too mineralised, the gold is at least a few grams, and it is not buried very deep, afew inches. but it is not a suitable unit for general gold detecting. coins, relics is more it,s strength. panning in a creek, river, would be your best bet to find any nuggetts, gold. the ace may be able to help in that area, check soil, crevice material . anyway, go well, cheers.
