THE NEXT FORUM GET TOGETHER FOR NEXT YEAR, AFTER TALKING TO OTHER MEMBERS WE SAID AROUND MAY OR JUNE BUT NOT THE LONG WEEKENDS
AS IT IS A LOT MORE PEOPLE RUNNING AROUND. AND JIMS PARK WILL BE BUSY AS WELL , SO GIVE US SOME DATES AND WE CAN GET THE BALL ROLLING
AND THIS GIVE MEMBERS TIME TO PUT IN FOR HOLIDAYS AND TIME OFF, WE WERE THINKING FROM FRIDAY TO SUNDAY AND LETS SEE IF WE CAN RAISE SOME MORE FOR THE CHARITY LIKE KIDS WITH CANCER OR STARLIGHT FOUNDATION .

May I suggest early autumn or late spring. Less chance of copping crap weather if we had it in the middle of winter.

Count me in regardless when, will make myself available.There is so much work involved to organize it like last time in June and most of it was done by Mariner3800.It would be good to have like a little organization committee (few people) so not everything falls on one person.

I am going to involve few of my clients for ruffle prices.

Maby have a "entry / attendance fee" of a small amount which could include raffle / door prize (ie: lucky number)....

I'm in as well. It is a good chance to help any newbies into detecting and to catch up with the rest of the crew. May sounds like a good time of year as the weather is a little more stable before we really get into winter(and it's my birthday then as well ) Sing out if you want a hand setting things up.

Sound like a great idea, couture us in. I have had a conversation with Coiltek earlier this month and they will help out with some raffle prizes like last time, so leave that for me to organise if you like?

Any time is good so I would suggest you pick a date and throw it out there and then we start to work around that??

here are some date.s 25/26/27 of may or 1/2/3 of june . marine3800 is thinking of asking the gpa if they can do a training day for the newbies and talking to coiltec again for raffle prize in which all money raised will go to one of the charities again, i have pick up from repco auto parts a $400 gift voucher which can be used at any store around australia so give us some feed back on these dates as we will have to book jims park again cheers sean goldminer997

Hi All,

Someone needs to put a stick in the sand and pick a date? Once we have a date we can work back from that.

I also think we need to rate every ones experience as this will help the organisers with a format for the weekend. Its no good catering for an expected majority of Newbees turning up and then when we are there we find we have a camp full of pros??

So if you have indicated you will attend, how about you rate yourself on a scale of 1-10.. 1 being a Newbee and 10 a bloody old fossil with 15 plus years detecting.

Also need some input as to what people would like Jim to talk about on the Saturday night, his last talk he gave to us in June was fantastic and I sincerely look forward to the next one.

Also something to think about is including the Panners & Sluicers on this weekend as I found it also a great hobby ( if someone can put their hand up to provide info on this it probably would be appreciated).

Sean, I'm not trying to take over at all, its just things that would of helped when we ran the last one.

Personally for me a good date would be the 25-26-27 May the weather will still be a bit warmer. A good topic for Jim to talk on is:- Were do you find X marks the spot to find the big nugget on Tully Maps, I can't find it anywere Just joking. Some of the history of the gold fields in the area and what the old timers were looking for. This may help us in finding gold today. Benifits of different coils for different soil types. I know that I'm an old fossil and have been doing prospecting off and on since 1976 when detectors first came out, but I would not like to call my self a pro. I'm still learning. Number of years doing detecting don't mean a thing, it is the number of nuggets found in a day, week, month or a year that makes the differant between a Newbie and a Pro. Have a look at Spottsy, or Phoenix, they have less years detecting than me but end up with more nuggets per year than me

I am newbie but as i have done training with GPA i can move one level to 1 (from 0 )

Guys organize the trip committee and delegate the work so its easier to put it together and also to be successful like June 2010 one.

We can also organize the BBQ for one of the nights and i am willing to do it.

I will also organize some of the ruffle prizes so please let me know who i have to coordinate this.

Sean/Peter you have my number let me know if anything needed.

We have plenty time to think of any ideas and make it happen.

We are absolute newbies (Level 1) and have found nothing but bullets and junk so far (but have not been out there very much either).
I hope it is OK to attend with just an xterra 705?

We would love to see how experienced detectors operate in real conditions.
The event sounds GREAT and we have booked into the caravan park for the weekend.
