If it's not sold in local Prospecting Supply stores, then I wouldn't waste my time on it. If it works as stated, they'd all be selling it when it comes out.

Nero is right on this one, you would need the detector to be sold at dealerships, with a full warranty and the backing of a good service dept. That way when you do hand over your hard earned cash, you are guaranteed to be able to get it fixed if something goes wrong or it needs to be replaced under warranty. eg look at ML full warranty and service dept with a quick turn around on all repairs.

Hey big chop where does it say it is better than the ML GPX5000, I can't see that anywhere, get your facts straight before you post up accusations Shocked

I just got my copy of GGT and there is a Add on page 13, jeez that was easy turn the page and there it is for all to see, seems Detectormods have a detector comming.

And with the GPX5000 where was all the right ups on it with all specs and pictures before it was released guess what there wasn't any, there was only rumours floating around to its existence.

It maybe all smoke and mirrors, I guess we will just have to wait and see.

On there web page http://ultimatedetector.com/ (such as it is) it does say this:
"Soon to be released is a completely new Gold detector design. This new detector will out-perform any detector currently available."

Even though it dosn't mention the GPX5000 to me it infers that, because it is a fact that the Minelab GPX5000 is currently available.

If it is real then some more info would be good, sooner rather that later.

cheers dave

Hi All
Huge claims, but in saying that I will go to any Demo to see if it can be backed up.Would I buy one straight of the shelf no way.The last test I went to was a circus. There is a huge market for anyone that can produce the worlds best detector,so I am sure the manufactures of this will have a big promo and invite all.Time will tell

Before this detector even gets released it will have to go through a testing programe, then all specs will have to be released to the public and then open days out at some diggings showing everyone what it can do, what dealerships it can be brought through, RRP, warranty, service dept the list goes on and on and on, until all this happens there is only one manufacturer to deal with ML and it's dealerships world wide.

Yeah true Brian
But to market this product as the" Ultimate Detector" means that the testing is complete and it has outperformed the rival. The talk can be talked but it is far better to walk the walk to promote a product. You only need a couple to get the ball rolling. If this product is "the Ultimate Detector"they will already have backers in place. This is a multimillion dollar industry and if they have got what theve got they will be ready to pounce. If they dont and just talk and play snip the Newbie it will fail.

G'day Brian

I agree with Dig, if this Ultimate Detector is real and ready to market then it surely has been tested.

Trent said in his first post on here: "The most advanced detector yet tested, released soon"

So its either been tested and found to be very good, or it hasn't been tested, so how would they know if its better than anything currently available!!!!!!!!!

Wait and see I guess Arrow

All I can say is they are going to release a detector called the ULTIMATE DETECTOR onto the Australian prospecting market, so everything must be in place before this can happen and if it is good, looking forward to seeing it in action. But everyone on here will realize that eventually this detector will be put up against the Minelab product and this will see if it is worthy of it's title.

I'm hearing that the machine and associated coils can't be properly ground balanced. If that information is wrong, I'd be surprised because I know one of the sources personally and he's quite experienced and his opinion is valued. Warranty service from the chap marketing this new machine has been non-existant in numerous cases in the past. He got away with it because he was altering somone else's product - but that won't apply to this new machine which will now be subjected to Australian compliance and consumer laws.

To be fair, it would be good to see more competition to force the hand of innovation by other manufacturers. If it came to pass that this new machine really does "Open up the goldfields" by outperforming the current creme-of-the-crop, I would be one of the first to endorse it if it works as stated. If I sound jaded, it's because there's simply been too many negative comments in the past associated with those involved with this upcoming machine. I look forward to reading more about it as more information comes to light since it would appear that a products is litterally about to be released.

Just went for a look around some gold detecting forums and to be very honest there is to much fighting, threats and other rubbish about this detector and the 2 other detectors apparently comming, the only forum that seems to be getting along nice a quietly is this one. I still believe if you have a new product, make sure all testing is done, all information released a few weeks before, detectors in stock boxed ready to go, dealerships arranged. What do I know I am just a Bundy prospector who ain't finding much gold.

I did submit an expression of interest but so far no reply.
I think that if the detector is ready to go then a photo of it on the forum would be nice.
At least then we would know it actually existed.

As far as the Golden Gate 3D is concerned ; It would be a tad silly to put so much design and development and capability into a machine and then for it to not work well.
I notice there was one for sale on USA Ebay for around 2 grand...... If ya wanna trade UP from yer 5000 Shocked Wink

I only see DD coils available, and not even an air test on anything under 2 grams... they lost me when they dropped a brick size piece of alloy 60 or 90 cm down... My RB 10 would pick that up...
If they want to impress, do a sub gram test at depth.. Without that they arent getting my cashola....

$5,695,00 for a VLF machine is a huge investment when there is already plenty of cheaper much cheaper VLF machines that are already proven here available from dealers, I can pretty much say I won't be putting in a bid with that as a starting price.

This isn't the ULTIMATE DETECTOR it is the detector on ebay.

It sure is! Nokta have been associated with more scams and dishonest sales spiels than anyone.... and their "3D" machines are useless for gold nuggets.

Remember THIS little gem? ...

The ULTIMATE DETECTOR. - Page 2 Original

Yup, it was claimed that Kellyco sold the NOKTA detector (Called "The Golden King") that found the "Washington nugget" that was later determined to be the Australian nugget called "The Orange Roughie Nugget".

no malice intended but:

we all know there is a tremendous lot to learn in this hobby just to be a beginner.
when you look at the videos that Nokta Engineering have put up
their claims all seem possible and reasonable - especially if you see a company
like Kellyco selling them. Most people who are not experienced do not understand
that you are not out there detecting large plates of metal,
you are hunting in tough and usually highly mineralized ground for subtle signals.

if this is a bogus detector from a shady company,
how is it that Kellyco will sell quasi-detectors like this
unless they have a tacit policy of selling anything if someone will buy it.

there is a general rule I have heard for years among my detecting friends;
"have nothing to do with Kellyco."
If this detector is shown to be bogus,
I hope Kellyco will be called out as well.
Predatory sellers give everyone in the detecting hobby a bad name.

On the other hand, if this winds up to be the Ultimate Detector,
I will happily make a public retraction of the statements above...

I asked the bloke why he was selling selling his Golden Gate 3D on Ebay and he said that it was his first detector, it worked well but was too difficult to learn and use. he found all of the selections & screens confusing and has opted for something simpler.

If it does do all of the things claimed by the manufacturer then it is definately not a beginners machine.
If the Turks would put as much energy into producing a good product as what they put into producing a bogus one they would have the metal detecting world by the short and curlys.
