Re: How to Find the Gold Motherlode
Hi
This is how the Earth must have formed Quartz Seams, North to South on my property, I have allot to look at now on my place, as this Video makes me think about what is under the surface of a quartz blow.
There is a large fault running through the area and in to my property.
I feel now I have only chipped at the surface of this area.
Regards Neale

Re: How to Find the Gold Motherlode
Thanx so much Neale for posting this. I had this idea about the Pilbara in WA when I was living up there and saw all the rocks stacked vertically, so this was a fantastic explanation for me. Wanted to watch the rest of it though, it ended too soon for me....

Re: How to Find the Gold Motherlode
Gday Neale .Thanks for alerting us to that YT.A most interesting one and very well explained.Any gold bearing veins of quartz will manifest itself on the earths surface features around the vicinity of the vein.By this I mean blows of gold ,like blows of quartz. But blows of gold are most likely to be encountered subsurfacely.Thats where our metal detecting comes in.In other words if you,re detecting gold nuggets there is a gold bearing quartz vein in the area.Or there may have been one in the past, but it has completely eroded away leaving no trace of its existence.Similarly if we are crevicing or panning gold in a stream the same scenario prevails. These are the indicators ,like in the film, that tell us of gold bearing veins in the vicinty. These also are the easiest way to find out if the area is goldbearing,,rather than cracking up veins all over the place. There are many area where I have encountered quartz seams but the area is nonauriferous and the quartz is barren. My understanding is that gold deposits in gold bearing veins are randomly deposited. So where you find gold in X location, the next, say, ten metres may be completely barren until the next deposit of gold is encountered.Cracking quartz veins to look for gold is then a completely random method of finding gold in veins. It would be interesting if anyone else has anything to add to this theorizing. Cheers and thanks again Neale.
p.s. Happy New Year.
