Hi Greg, Give Minelab a ring. They will fix it for you at Torrensville. If it has no warranty i think labour on the maintenance is charged at about $45 per hour or part there of, and the part should only cost a few dollars. Its probably about $20 each way postage to send the control box to them. They will check out the machines general health and performance at the same time.

Hi All.
I sent my detector away to minelab on the 11th. of feb & it was returned to me today (26-3-08 ) as good as new, I would like to let everyone know that I was treated very well &it was repaired at no cost to me. It only has 2 weeks waranty left. They replaced the complete PCB assembly. (whatever that is )
Cheers Greg

Agreed Greg have had faultless sevice over the years from the back room boys , fast turn around from remote areas and no probs with
the repaired machines and coils. I guess thats one of the reasons we pay the upfront price for the machine, Must be a pretty good mob to work for Kevin who is the voice of the service dept is near his 10th year I reckon . Very Happy

yep...I've got nothing but praise for thier after sales service.
Great blokes to deal with on the phone and my last dealings (4500 recall) the turn around time was just over a week. just a straight control box swap over.

Minelab Repairs Empty Misbehaving SD2200v2 and was planning a trip, help please :(

Post  bhaguan Sun Apr 05, 2009 5:23 pm

I have a problem with my SD2200v2 as follows:

If I use the combination of either CH1 or N with 'deep' mode I get nothing but a constant low tone that does not change regardless of targets nor threshold settings.
In all other setting combinations the threshold is VERY noisy, and regardless of settings I am unable to detect a 303 bullet more than 3 inches through air!!

Any ideas what the problem might be ?
Anyone know minelabs turn around time for repairs, and what sort of money they charge for an out of warranty unit ?
Many thanks,
Dylan.

Hi Dylan, Sound like a reciver (bottom left corner) on your board has a dry socket or come away. This sit behind the CH2 switch at a distance that can only be measured by daylight. Send it to ML and they should have it back to you within a week, they are good with turnaround times. Cost will not be a arm and a leg as some detectors send with major problems (from misuse) have cost as little as $100 to fix.
Hope this helps you and good hunting.
Regards Ric

Ok, thats the plan then, back to minelab.
From what I hear they tend to come back from the workshop better than new , so off she goes.
Thanks
