Comet 12P/Pons Brooks
This comet will be visible in the low Western sky after sunset below Orion or thereabouts.
Take your binoculars and scan around you may spot it. It is visible to the naked eye but is just a fuzzy patch of light.

Re: Comet 12P/Pons Brooks
Nor I.
Lost in the sky glow and smoke. Maybe tomorrow night. It will be around for a while as it heads back into space.
If you can spot Orion then the comet will be a bit below that constellation. Tail should be pointing up towards Orion.
So if you scan the sky along a bearing of 280deg up to and alt of approx 30 deg the comet should be somewhere in that bit of sky......Or maybe not.
It is very faint and will likely be difficult to see through the sunset twilight glow close to the horizon plus the moon is big and bright which won't help much. Some 7 x 50 binocs may help a bit.

Snapped a stack of pics of the night sky last night but no comet. Tons of stars of all colours but not the slightest trace of a tail...Guess I am looking in the wrong part of the sky.

Re: Comet 12P/Pons Brooks
Obtained the exact Alt and Az coordinates for 12p/pons, pointed the cam and 135mm 1.8 tele lens at that spot at the correct time and no comet. set up the P1000 at 1000mm zoom and star tracker and ran off some vids....Still no sign of a comet. Geeeez what a fizzer 12P/pons turned out to be in Aussie skies. I will blame it all on the smokey burn offs taking place around Canberra at the moment
