Hello and g'day all.
Recently moved to Melbourne, from Brisbane, for work.
Have always been interested in rocks since I was a kid.
I have fossicked for sapphires and gold on the CQ Gemfields for about 20yrs, mainly up at Tomahawk. Lots of nice finds but heaps of digging.
I had an underground opal claim at Coocoran near Lightning Ridge, for 6 years. Gave it up after a nasty fall. Went specking at Grawin instead.
I've chased gold in Warwick, Thanes Creek, Mt Perry and Gympie.
Now that I'm living down here for a few years, it's time to get into detecting.
I went to Gold Prospecting Show last weekend in Bendigo and now I'm hooked.
Got a mate coming down from QLD in late August for a week and we shall have a sniff around Dunolly region.
PS. I was a geology tech on CSG drill rigs, hence the nic.

Good luck with it all csgrigdog, hopefully you'll strike some gold.
It's been pretty well flogged everywhere but don't let that dampen your enthusiasm.
As you know, it's all about getting out into the bush, having a wander, followed by a nice cold beer at the end of the day
