Re: just another newby
Hi piston broke (pete)
Thanks for the welcome
I love all sorts of prospecting I used to do a lot of panning sluiceing but im starting to do more detecting these days
around the golden triangle vic
so far me and my partner have got a few little bits im trying to learn how to read the ground and find possible likely locations
is a lot different to reading a creek as to where the gold gets trapped but by researching I will get there
thanks again for the welcome to the forum
happy hunting to you

Re: just another newby
to the forum Sluice box,
Just think of the areas like a creek but much much larger, since most gold field areas have been glacier player deposit to river system at some stage, creeks are much younger, that cut through older systems.
Hope this makes sense.
Cheers Mick

Hi mick
thanks for the welcome
What you have said does make sense and will help because I have been looking at the ground as it is today and not thinking of it
millions of years ago I will have to look at things differently and try a the areas I have avoided due to my thinking
thanks for your help
