4800 and relic machines
Can anyone tell me if the 4800 is more of a coin relic machine or just half way between the 4nhalf and 5000. Does anyone know what would be the best make and brand etc of a coin relic machine to purchase.
Thanks
Thanks

Re: 4800 and relic machines
G'day DSOT. Welcome to the Forum.
Right on both counts. The 4800 is designed more for coin and relic than gold detecting.
The best make and brand of coin/relic detector, depends on whether you're after one for land,beach/surf,sea
or river use,or a top of the line all rounder. In other words what exactly will you be searching for and in what
type of terrain.

Re: 4800 and relic machines
Cheers for that, yer looking for a machine that will work on land not on the beach or sandy areas. A machine that would work reasonably well in the grounds around inland WA.

Re: 4800 and relic machines
There are several top notch,coin/relic detectors, designed for land use on the market.I understand you'll be using it on the inland grounds of WA.By that i take it you wont be working salt flats. If not,do you intend on purchasing a VLF or are you after a pulse machine for your hunting needs. Also an approximate price of what your willing to spend on a coin/relic detector would help.

Re: 4800 and relic machines
G'day Nuggetfinder1.Welcome to the forum.
Only if the trash is on or near the surface. As targets get deeper, separating trash from treasure also becomes more unreliable.VLFs are better for discriminating coins and relics at almost their full depth,in quiet ground, but lose depth to pulse machines as the ground becomes more mineralized. Pulse machines give the greatest depths, but have much poorer discriminating circuitry.
