Does anyone know if Alibrite has any detrimental effect on silver jewelery.

Not sure Rowdy. Have you got a very old well worn silver coin that won't matter if it gets stuffed up or not. Old coins are pure silver. Try that and you should get some idea then.

Don't worry mate I think we all get like that sometimes. But I hope my idea works for you.

Not quite pure silver.
Early Australian post 1910 pre-decimals were 92.5% silver, 7.5% copper and later ones, post 1946 were 50% silver.

"Tarn Off" works well on silver tarnish and does not remove or corrode metal.
Bunnings have it.

I did the old aluminium tin foil and a good dollop of spittle to clean a silver coin once, worked like magic.
probably not recommended by coin collecting nuts though, could be worth a try with the chain?

You can get Tarn Off   on E-bay    about $24  for 250  ml.   free postage .

I have not used it but might give it a go .

I found a bottle of CLR lurking in the laundry cupboard so I might try that when I remember where I sat the jewelry.
