Detech 11" ultra sensing spiral wound (Updated)
Just some feedback on this coil I've been using lately.
Good points are sensitivity is good it picks up shot and small gold at depth.Construction is solid with a very good snug heavy duty skid plate and value for money I picked up this coil $265.
Now as far as performance I'm finding it smooth and pretty good around flat, surfaced or mineralised areas but its triggers very easily on uneven surfaces or swinging into scrub or sticks.Ive read that these coils are quieter overall than NF evo coils but that is certainly not the case with ours.My Coiltek 11" was about on par though with the Detech, exhibiting similar behavior.More regular ground balance and slower operation helps somewhat though,if your not in contact with the ground it runs pretty quiet.
This coil is a very different coil to what I'm used to and signal response and target location also take some practice.I'm not really a user of small coils but I would say its an improvement over the 11" commander in sensitivity.
Switching from FG to Enhance sees this coil become quite stable as though it was designed around this timing and would certainly suit a 4500 well by boosting its small gold performance on specimens etc.
This coil certainly won't be my everyday coil but is quite useful for reworking old patches etc.I will post an update down the track after further testing particularly its ability in reworking old ground.

So after using this coil for a while I opted to send it back for evaluation.Pete has sent me a new coil straight away no question asked. The new coil has performed perfectly and I can comfortably say it will be used a lot in the new year.I will post how it performs over old ground as this was my intention for purchasing for those times when I don't have new areas in mind.

Detech 11” Ultra Sensing Mono Coil
Thanks for the speil on this coil, as I am thinking of buying one, to go over the ground that the 7000's are going over, as I've also heard from a few others on other forums that it picks up small nuggets even the 7000 leaves behind, how true that is I'll wait and see, but it sounds like a good buy overall, but I've only seen them for between $320-350 in cost, where did you buy yours from if you don't mind me asking please deutran
