I bought part of a Bitcoin, not a whole one , on 25 June for AUD$3,749 /Bitcoin . I have just sold that for AUD$4,199/Bitcoin to-day , so I have made about 10 % profit after fees . [0.5 % fee ] I intend to buy again when the price drops a bit . Wheeling and dealing !

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
Good on ya Mike.
There's been great opportunities to make some serious money during the price drop pre Bitcoin/ Bitcoin cash split.
Was a no brainer that it was going to test $3,000US and above.
Have a gander at Neo. It is the Chinese version of Eth and has been going ballistic. I bought in at a few dollars now up to 20odd dollars and have made tidy profit.

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
Bought some Bitcoin Cash yesterday for AUD$697 , this morning it is AUD$800 so I have already made a paper profit of over 10% . I could sell and take my profit but I will hold for awhile as I expect it to go up more but I am only guessing !

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
Crypto currencies is the new money, dollars and cents is the old money. It is stated by some people that the new money will replace the old money in about 5 years. There is no stopping it, Bitcoin is worth more money than General Motors in the USA. One day you might wake up and find your dollars are worth nothing or have lost 50% of value. As we all know the price of gold is controlled by the banks. So that is also a risk to put your money in . The advice from one financial adviser was , work out your worth, cash assets etc. then invest 1% into crypto currencies . If you loose 1 % of your worth , it will not affect your life style .

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
Be carefull holding onto to too much BTC right now as charts are showing signs of a possible price correction, possible dip down to test $3000US , stabilize and hopefully go back up and test of $5,000US. My advice would be put some profit into USDT as backed by US dollar and doesn't fluctuate much at all and safe place to run and hold profit , you could also buy bit of ETH or even Ripple as its at nice low and would be easy for price to rise and double your investment , just consolidate your profits and let btc market play itself out as although price is up it's running out of volume. Another option would be to trade to silver or gold and this can be sold to buy back btc when lower price hits and good buy opportunities arise https://www.ainsliebullion.com.au/FAQ/WhyBitcoin.aspx
Keep in mind this my opinion only and up to you to make your own decision as trading can be a risky business.
With Neo it has a two pronged income as when you buy Neo you get Gas..it's hard to explain but look up Neo on reddit https://www.reddit.com/r/NEO/ and you'll find info. Gas is where you can make passive income down the track. Made a killing the last week as all crypto's in my portfolio went nuts with Neo being a big one.
I trade Neo both on Binance and Bittrex , Gas on Binance

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
G'day gent's
Freedom of speech, I'v said I'll allow. You can talk all you's want about market stocks/shares & the profits of what an individual has made/gained or lossed.
What I do not want to see, is anyone recommending or telling another, what/where to invest their hard earned in. Management takes no responsibility for any member here, who is thinking of taking or has taken the advice of another, towards investing in/on any market stocks/shares. Any gains/losses that may occur, through a members actions in doing so, is solely the responsibility of that individual member/s alone.
As was mentioned by some members here, do your research & just when you think you've got it down to a t, go over it again & again, before parting with your hard earned dollars.
Cheers Management

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
FYI Bitcoin has now passed AUD$6.000.
On 11 th. May Bitcoin was AUD$2,600 , on Aug. 13 Bitcoin was AUD$5,000 , it is now AUD$6,000 . The price cannot be controlled by any government. What about gold ? The price is controlled by the big banks , world wide .

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
Bitcoin has had an amazing run. I looked seriously into mining it a few years ago and decided against it. I didnt factor in growth of the market and at the time the it wasnt really worth more than the costs to mine. Some people have made alot of money from its growth, good luck to them. My long term project is learning to trade the financial markets. It is always there and readily accessible from anywhere one has an internet connection. Its a mature market with plenty of shifty participants so caution is required.
Cheers

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
You should buy some Bitcoin and just "lock it away ". As a long term investment . Could go to $100,000 , who knows ?
I had the idea of buying some and just spending the growth/profit every year . I wish I had the funds to do it .

Re: Off Topic Bitcoin.
I would amazed if it went to that but you never know i guess. You could utilise the leverage afforded by accessing a broker and the derivatives market. You can get a demo account for free on yr phone and have a play. Derivatives are a common financial instrument and track the real price of the underlying asset. You generally only require around 10% to hold a position and you sell when you like. I got smashed with bitcoin and bitcoincash but have done well on natural gas, gold, asx200 and forex markets.
I use IG markets atm and plus500 which has around ten different crypto's. Cheers
