Latest price ,  AUD$7,500    USD $5951 .     The ship is sailing away  and I am not on board , I am crying ....

Since May I could "see" that Bitcoin was going to go up . But I did not have the F***ing money to buy .

Interesting read that last article. I cant figure it out though, as he says this to a room full of bankers "If you're a criminal then bitcoin is a great product, said Jamie Dimon, head of JPMorgan Chase." and then says its worthless. I dont get it....he is plainly contradicting himself. Why doesnt he think its a great product??? Could be an inside joke i guess..

Because JPMorgan are in the Ethereum Alliance the next front running Cryptocurrency they are trying to diminish Bitcoin performance whilst enhancing ETH

Thanks to you and Nero for the interesting posts.....

Like you said how can you go wrong with "one"................even if you lose the lot it's only petty cash ! and you have the thrill of the chase.
I spoke to a guy last week who told me his arm tattoos cost over $2,000.......he risks frostbite in winter (showing them off) and skin cancer in summer !!!
I also know people who have spent over $300 on "dorky" personalised number plates on their vehicles......people have too much money, so why not buy a B.C and at least get the "thrill of the chase".
Gold & stocks have become ho-hum.

Be lucky.

Also think about buying Bitcoin , say 1 for all your grand kids , and tell them they can have the money to pay their uni. fees

When you buy bitcoin, what are you investing in that is so great that the value goes up so fast?

Yes Nightjar, similar to your bitcoin "non account", my bitcoin "non account" now has a credit of $16750 awaiting my collection.
Hang on,,,,I don't have any "bitcoin", I don't have any dealings with "bitcoin", yet I have daily emails pleading that I don't miss out on bitcoin ownership before the price becomes unaffordable but somehow I still have this mysterious credit of $16750.
If there was ever a scam about anything, "bitcoin" has to be it.
Anyone tried buying a new Toyota 4x4 with this cyber currency? I suspect one could, albeit a paper 3D printed one with crook injectors.

It shows you how mainstream crypto currencies are becoming that the scammers are now targeting victims using BTC scam.

My BTC scam is putting $2000 per week into my account

BITCOIN has been in freefall today.  People are screaming about it while sadly sipping coffee, trying to stay awake overseas.

It dropped USD $1,000 in a matter of hours as I watched live.  It fell $110 just while I was writing this...

Tonight I asked a professional Cryptocurrency trader what his thoughts were and if was a good time for people to try to buy into Bitcoin - or was it too late?
His reply: "Way too late. all the first tier have made their money and got out, and the current people pushing it are desperate for new blood to prop up the pyramid scheme. that'd be you. how much real money you got?"  Another said "Even if you buy a decent miner for around 500-750 USD generally it just breaks even, or even loses money."

Today was the notorious Bitcoin Fork that took place... but simultaneously the Whales were trading and selling, smashing the value of Bitcoin when word got about that the Fork was Suspended.  All the people I spoke to were selling Bitcoin to buy Bitcoin Cash.  Then China and Korea (who own most of the Bitcoin Mining Servers) floated several new Cryptocurrencies - whilst putting their money into  Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin Gold... which propped them up whilst the Miners, sick of the slower mining algorithms and more complex problem-solving puzzles used to Mine Bitcoin jumped ship... which meant that fewer servers were crunching the Bitcoin mining numbers. This, plus the Whales selling, plus the Chinese/Koreans pushing other Crypto ... resulted in devaluing Bitcoin and proving that is really is a Bubble.  One that can be disrupted easily.

A chap yesterday bought a bottle of expensive Whiskey to celebrate his good fortune in Bitcoin... and then sold it to buy Silver for some reason.

One of the Saudi princes that owned some big chunks of Citigroup, Twitter, and others (who was arrested last week by the King) was allegedly deep into BTC.

When the first price for bitcoin appeared on October 5, 2009, one US dollar was worth 1309.3 bitcoin. “Yes, if you had bought $US100 worth of bitcoin in those days, and not sold them in some panic, you would be a half-billionaire today,” writes Jeffrey Tucker from the Foundation for Economic Education.

Earlier this month, the digital currency topped $US7000 ($A9800) for the first time ever, after a more than sevenfold increase in value since the start of the year. In the seven weeks leading up to the $US7000 milestone, it more than doubled its value, Reuters reported. Bitcoin’s market capitalisation — the price multiplied by the number of bitcoins in circulation — now sits at nearly $US121 billion, according to industry website Coinmarketcap, which says the aggregate value of all cryptocurrencies is now over $US208 billion.

Writing in the Herald Sun, Barefoot Investor Scott Pape likened crypotcurrencies to gambling, not investing, noting that Australia is the most lucrative gambling market in the world. “And that’s why there are plenty of stock-jockeys trying to get you to ‘invest’,” he writes, calling out headlines from investment newsletters such as “$642,245 for every $10,000 invested?”, “This could turn $500 into $42k” and “A potential 629 per cent gain if you buy on tomorrow’s opening”.

“Fair dinkum, these claims would make Tom Waterhouse blush,” Pape writes. “Don’t get me wrong — at this time of the year I love a day at the races. But at the racetrack, everyone knows it’s a punt. Bottom line? Don’t confuse cryptocurrencies with investing — they, too, are just a punt.”

Bitcoin was definately on the move down but bitcoincash got most of the gains. I was watching as it skyrocketed from under 1000 to 2700 and now back to 1700. Apparently there is an idealogical battle going on within the bitcoin community and when segwit2 didnt go through alot of people sold butcoin and put it into bitcoin cash as well as moving over their computers and hashing power. I made alot of paper money trading bitcoin cash on a demo account.
