I have gathered & filter some mine data so that only Gold Mines show up in these downloads. Left clicking on the mines in Google Earth will give location and other details of the mines. Hope these files are of some help.

DATUM POINTS
Hi Geoff, great job with the ID of mine sites and reefs. I would like to know where the datum points for some maps are located or how they can be found in ref. to GPS Degrees, Min, Sec-S. I noted that the datum info is provided for each site, Lat and Long etc and the datum #say AD29, but where is this point located or do you require another map of datum points?
Again thanks for the info

Goldfather

Thank you!
I just managed to make it (QLD Mines) work on my iPad and MacBook! It takes a while to load on my iPad but it sure does work.
Now I won't have to carry around maps anymore. Still need to find me some colour though lol!

This is a copy of file downlads from 4Share
Since 4share is now full of adds and confusing interface I have found another site to post my files. I have also included other formats that may be of more uses.

I have download QLD.gpx file tonight and loaded it into both garmin Mapsource and Basecamp with no problems. Did you try right clicking on the download link and use save Link as and then use Name of File (AuQldMine.GPX)and the Location you wish(eg Desktop). If this did not work send me (via PM)an Email address that I can send you a copy of the file.

Re: Historical Gold Mines in Google Earth
Memory Maps
I have memory maps on my laptop and was wondering if any of the historical mine site files can be imported into this program.
Have played around with the various files but can't get anything to work.
Have loaded into google earth and have marked some points by writing down coords then going back to Mem Maps and marking.
Figure there must be an easier way.
I am a bit challenged by all the technology.
Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

Memory Maps Import File
Hope this helps
Open Memory Map & click on Overlay
Next Step
Next Step
Next Step
Next Step
Import Format File, You need to have your Data in one of these Formats to Import them.
If you have Ozi then you can load your data in there first or create places of interest and save them into MM Format so you can load them
Waypoints or Track Files
If you are looking at GE and marking places of interest or have imported your data into GE then save them as Kml and then Import them into Ozi the save them as a MM format
