Laanecoorie Gold Bash - Jim Stewart Memorial Trophy

With now only 7 weeks to go before the Gold Bash we are looking for nominations to be put forward for this years Jim Stewart Memorial Trophy. Nominations do not have to come from only this forum or any other forum or club. The nominated person can come from any source of the prospecting communities.
This may give you some idea of the person that we are looking for. This is what is written on the trophy :-

This trophy is awarder in memory of Jim Stewart, in appreciation of his efforts and advice given to those who asked, without wanting anything in return, but a kind word, a warm smile and maybe a VB or two, to be shared around a campfire.

If you know of anyone that fits in to that criteria and you think that he or she is worthy to be nominated please contact me personally with a few words explaining the reason for this person to be put forward for nomination. "DO NOT NOMINATE ANYONE ON THE OPEN FORUM" please as the winner will be announced at the Bash and will be kept as a surprise until the announcement on the night. All nominated names will go before the committee for final selection. You can nominate more than one person if you wish.

The Jim Stewart memorial trophy was awarded to Rita Bentley, President of the Victorian Prospectors Association of Victoria. Well deserved. Rita and husband David were also made life members of the PMAV at our recent AGM.

Rita was also awarded the "John Winter Award" as well. So this year she did a hat trick, Jim Stewart Memorial Trophy, Life Membership award and the John Winter award. You can't ask much better than that.

I can not think of a person who deserves this award more than Rita Bentley, I am a member of the PMAV for 12 years and I have always admired what she has done for all of us prospectors.
