GPZ7000 battery
Yes John, I know, but I could not help myself, I needed a new toy. At coil tech on the waiting list I was number 131 I think, I didn't want to wait that long. In Ballarat I could pick up my GPZ on Monday, so I did. Now, my little dilemma with the battery. On the battery charger there are 2 rows of icons. On the far left side on the bottom was straight away a steady green light, on top of that one a green light started to blink, I also plugged in my wireless speaker at the same time, after 2 and a half hours I unplugged the wireless speaker because I did not know if it was fully charged or not. Also after 2 and a half hours the far left one stopped blinking and was steady green, the icon with the green lightning flash never came on. In the manual it said, "the far right top green icon with the tick should be steady on green when the battery is fully charged". After 8 hours, this never happened. Anybody else experiencing this? Cheers, Hermann.

Hi Hermann, is this supposed to be an answer to the following topic:
https://golddetecting.forumotion.net/t20937-problem-with-zed-s-battery-charger#202222
If so, would you like me to add it to it?

G'day Hermann,
There is only 2 lights that are actually lights on the charger and they are the 2 at the left side. The bottom one is the power one the top one is the charge one, when the battery is charging this light flashes and when the battery is charged this light becomes a steady green light meaning the battery is charged. Read the manual page 9 charging batteries. Mine charged with in 4 hrs on the first charge. The WM 12 wireless module only took 2.5hrs. Hope this helps.
Cheers.
Mike.

thanks Mick, I also heard it from Minelab, that only the 2 lights on the left are the ones to worry about, I panicked a bit too early. Cheers, Hermann

Except when its hooked up to the detector,it tells ya its charge level.....

GPZ7000 battery
Hi Goldchaser, Today I played a little bit with my GPZ after that I was connecting the wireless module to the charger separately without the battery from the detector in the charger. The only green light on the charger came on was on the far left bottom, and a green flashing light on the module on top of the on/off switch was working. After a while the green light on the module was steady, that means the battery in the module is full. (I think). Cheers, Hermann.

G'day GC,
The WM 12 wireless module charge light flashes the same as the main battery does, but doesn't take as long to charge as the main battery. When I pulled mine out of the box I quickly set it all up to charge as we were told it could take 8hrs to charge, I noticed the WM 12 light had stopped flashing about 20mins before the main battery's light stopped flashing. Hope this makes sense.
Cheers.
Mike.

Re: GPZ7000 battery
Thanks Costas for picking up on my original post. It makes sense that only the 2 far left 'lights' are active. Hermann I recall reading the same in the manual re:the 'light' to the right. Hence my original post, WTF is the manual on about? Very confusing. Anyway, it appears the two left lights are the only ones to worry about

Re: GPZ7000 battery
I am just amazed that people have 10.7 grand to chuck away on a metal detector. I wish you all the best of good fortune in getting at least some of your money back in gold finds......I have even forgotten what a hundred dollar note looks like? Does the Mint still print those?
Of the 53 metal detectors I have owned, (96% second hand) I have on average, spent approx 385 dollars per year for the past 55 years on tectas with the Infinium, LST and SOV being the exceptions

Adrian,
Maybe the old "penny wise, pound foolish" applies here.
53 2nd hand detectors in past 55years?
Did you start off with one of these?
