Unfortunately the market hasn't been given much information about this new machine about to be released. So based on the statement in their advertising 12 grams found at 17inches l was wondering how this compares to the 5000 matched up with a 14 inch mono coil.ln other words what would the maximum depth be that a 5000 would detect a 12 gram slug of gold ??????

You'll have to wait for more info, because it's impossible to say from that.
Who knows what the ground was like, only Jonathan can elucidate. It could've been through 17" of hotrocks.

Cheers

Depends on the ground, shape of the nugget, orientation in the ground etc, etc.

But the 7000 is going to be great, lots better than the 5000, so just start saving your money. Very Happy

hi the goldman, i got a 8.7gram funny shaped nug at about 16" with the 5000 and a 17x11 nf (superlight) mono, on a couple of years back. moderate soil, in enhance, high gain . couldnt believe it, thought it should have been bigger at that depth in enhance. so yes the 5000 is b--- good and i am hopeing the new 7000 is even better, time will tell ... kev
