loading cds on to hdd for oziexplorer
Gday everyone i am having a bit of trouble getting ozi to load maps from my hdd. When i have the cds in the drive no probs. I have tried sending them to the maps folder in ozi but it seems like they are only a shortcut to the dvd drive therefore if there is no cd in the drive there is no map.
I did manage to successfully do this years ago but dropped my old computer so am trying to get all this happening on a new one with win 8.1 yuck!!
Any suggestions would be great.
Cheers

Hoolahoopa,
You must configure Ozi so it can find your maps on your drive.
Open Ozi
click- configuration
click - map images
You will now see "Image File Paths."
In "Path 1" you need to type in the path to your HDD where the maps are stored, usually in the "maps" file of Ozi.
Here is an example that may prompt your memory.
C:\oziexplorer\maps\natmap 25k-sheets\mapsheets-CD1

Hi Peter just tried what you suggested, no good. If i go to the place i have sent the maps to on the hdd i can click through the folder and there seems to be nothing there. I am a bit lost.

Try copying the maps from your CD then paste them in the "maps" folder in Ozi.
ozi
If you are using the topoview maps they are copy protected. Use the ozi utility to convert and save them to a foldr on the hdd in the oz3 format. Worked for me.
