New Minelab - Page 2 Empty Re: New Minelab

...if its a wish list... I would love the new model to be switchable/programable and b able to have adjustable timings that go deep and target the real deep targets similar to the old SD 2200 channel 2 deep setting... only with the abilty to run quite with a mono coil in enhance/sensitive smooth timings with no loss of sensitivity or depth... some say that the GPX range already do this but I believe they don't especially in highly mineralised ground.

I believe the SD2200 still to be sudden death on larger deep targets here in Victoria with a DD coil and if M/L could use the same timings only with the added advantage of running it quite with a mono coil they b on a winner. There are still pro's working this area using this machine for deep targets and then switching to a 4500 for the shallower/smaller targets. This may not b the case in other areas but with the mineralised areas we have here the SD2200 is renowned for its depth on larger targets with a DD coil and its rejection of clay domes.

The second timing would b to saturate down to the 12inch mark similar to the current timings of the GPX4000/4500 and have EMI a thing of the past

This is a bit more interesting. One thing I do know is that Minelab read this forum, so this is one area they get future ideas for development.

I did mention bells and whistles but only in the context of say the 3500 improvements to the 3000. Whilst many items mentioned could be incorporated in a brand new detector, I wouldnt expect too many changes to the 4500 but there are some obvious improvements that can be made ie reduction of EMI interference would be a big plus.

What would be the improvement that would make you upgrade?

My daughter will take one if they'll make one in pink New Minelab - Page 2 Icon_biggrin

Me? any improvement over the previous model in depth, sensitivity or EMI cancellation. Stuff like batteries, switches etc you can live with though improvements in those areas wouldn't go astray.

I do wish you could purchase just a control box by itself though.

One main improvement that would get the dollars out of my pocket would be a useable discrimination feature,
my back pleads to you minelab, yes I know the rules, rubbish is part of the game, but one could only hope.... New Minelab - Page 2 Icon_lol
