Hi Dave, thank for your welcome, I would be happy to give any info about Sandstone. Dundee is no longer in the area but we have Chris who knows the area like the back of his hand. He is happy to take people out and show them where gold has been found and where they are permitted to prospect.
Cheers, dutchy Very Happy

Hi Dutchy,
Welcome to the Forum and thanks for your posting......I tried to contact "Crocodile" Dundee several times without success.
My wife and I (and a mate) will be up that way in about 3 weeks time.....so I would appreciate any contact details for Chris and/or yourself....we are happy to pay $$$ for info', lease access and tourist guide fees.

Cheers.

Hi goldstrijk,
It would be great to catch up when you get here, I think I know Ronnie, We've been finding a few good bits lately, Chris found a 76gm specie last week and I found 2 bits for 4.6 gm. so it's still out there. When do you think you will be up this way??
Cheers

Hi Dutchy,
I'm travelling around Oz with my family - currently in Leonora - and will be heading out towards Sandstone when we're done here (which may be a little longer than expected due to caravan repairs). As I'm having no end of trouble trying to find prospecting patches that are available (most of the locations in the only book I have - Doug Stone - are under lease) I would love to take you up on your offer.
Cheers,
Jig

Hi all,
Chris and I had a great day out today with Sandy and his mates Joe and Terry from Mandurah. Good to meet other Forum people. No luck with gold finds but showed them some good spots for detecting over the next few days that haven't been overdone by the tourists. Hope they find some. Let us know if you are heading up this way.
Cheers

Hi All,

I'd just like to let everyone know that we stopped in Sandstone a few days ago and caught up with Dutchie and Chris. They are fantastic people who showed us a lot of places around the area and also gave some great tips. If you are passing through Sandstone I highly recommend getting in touch with them - even if it's only for a beer and a chat - you won't regret it!!!

Cheers,
Jig&Jo

Hi Dutchy,
Will be in the Sandstone area from the 9th to the 16th of June. Would love to use your services as a local guide to the available prospecting areas. Is 0423 917544 still the number to get you on?

Cheers

Hi Dutchy and Chris, thanks for showing Geoff and me around. On the first day we managed 11gm which was excellent. We really appreciated your help and the nuggets kept coming after we left you.
Cheers from Geoff and Hermann

Hi guys,

I am from Romania (Europe) and I am planing a 25 days prospecting trip to WA in December - January 2015
I will come to Sandstone region for the most of the period.
Any advice is welcome.
I own a SD2300 and I hunt for the small gold in hammered patches.

Thank you

Hi Adrian,
I strongly suggest you go a Google search re. temperatures in Sandstone around Jan/Feb.....( reminds of a song: "Only mad dogs & Englishman go out in the mid-day sun").
I strongly suggest you contact Dutchy.

Be lucky.

Could be wrong but I believe that Dutchy is no longer in that region, you will be heading into really hot weather, the Golden Triangle would be a better option at that time of year. But still hot. Have a chat with madtuner, Steve, about temps in WA at that time of year.
regards Phil

I agree with Phil, high 40's days on end and nights that don't drop below 30. Days even hitting 52
