Pommie visiting Cairns.....
G'day, folks,
My wife and I are coming to Australia from the south coast of the UK in October/November staying with relatives in Adelaide. I'm bringing my detector with me hoping to do some fossicking in the hills. We're doing a short trip to Cairns sometime probably late October and want to have a try at coin shooting on the beach there. Is there anybody who would like to spend a few hours with me and show me the best sites? Knowing Aussie hospitality, I'm sure I'll find somebody. Thanks, guys.
Bye y'all!!!

Try any of the beaches, they give up a little every now and then.

Re: Pommie visiting Cairns.....
Check with locals about crocidiles before you go near any water. Good luck

Re: Pommie visiting Cairns.....
Probably give Cairns itself a miss and head North, there is not really a beach in the city itself.
The Northern beaches, Trinity, Palm Cove, Ellis, right up to Port Douglas are very popular beaches. And of course that is a very scenic route!!
