GPX 4000 Coil/RX Switch

I run a 4000 with a mono coil and the coil/rx switch set to DD, when asked why I did not run it in mono mode my only answer was that is the way the switch is set on JP's DVD and that it worked fine. Can someone please give me a better reason?

Seen it done and heard of it being done.
Never tried it.
And don't know the logic behind it is.
But I think it is legit.

Bushranger, I have always been told to run in DD also for DD & Mono coils. The old brain can't remember why but your right it does work, I never change the coil/rx from DD, I used to when a DD coil was the only coil that I had and wanted to run in psuedo mono but now I have a few mono's.

JP did describe what and why but can't find the post.
